Europena rafa v. premiership rafa

Does anyone think that it might be a possibility that Rafa doesn't prepare to the same level of detail for a Premiership game that he does for the Champion League?

I mean, does he spend as much time on Charlton away as he does on say, AC Milan away?

A manager in todays game will undoubtedly spend a hell of a lot of time concentrating and preparing on the next game no matter who the opposition is. To suggest that Rafa may not spend as much time preparing for league games as Champs. lge games is a bit unfair on him, he is a stickler for detail when it comes to preparing his sides; it is well documented that at Valencia he had 8 cameras in the roof of the stadium recording each game so that he could analyze the a.rse out of it later, if that is the length he'll go too to analyxe his own team then he will undoubtedly have video's and scouts with every detail about the next opposition.

IMO at the moment the problems have to be levelled at the door of the players, simply 'cos there are so many that are not performing and out of form and no matter what the manager does in these situations if they can't be a.rsed or simply aren't able to break out of their slump there is only so much he can do, especially when the transfer window is closed and so far away, of course eventually if the manager can't get anything out of his players question must be asked but that is still a few weeks away for me.

No one is disputing that, this thread is about whether everyoen thinks the same levels of pre-match proparation goes into Premiership games as goes into Champions League games.

Why?

Surely 3 points away at Charlton would be more advantagous in order to close the gap with Chelsea?

We have to close that gap..we can't be that far behind again this season

Let's face it, the 2nd place team are probably going to be as far behind Chelsea as we were last season the way things are going at the moment and i think we like everyone else are going to struggle to keep up (as much as i hate to say it), we just need to work at getting as far up in that chasing pack.

If rafa was paying more attention to Champs lge than the Prem (but i don't think he is for a second) then this might be the reason why.
