My first ever competitive football match! - Australia vs. solomon islands!

International Football/Football World Wide - General Discussion

Just went for my first ever competitive football match three days ago where Australia took on the Solomon Islands in a World cup qualifier in Sydney!

They thrashed them 7 - 0 ! Scorers were Viduka x 2, Archie Thompson, Cahill, Emerton, Cullina (awesome player), Chipperfield and Thompson. It was a truly memorable experience and I will never forget it!

Otherwise when I was back in Hong Kong I went for Liverpool , Real Madrid, Man Utd, Juve and AC Milan when they came but it was no fun because they were friendly games but atleast I saw the players :)

It has come to my attention that this post is in the wrong area, MODS can you please shift it. Thanks.

The match was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :censored:.. only if Kewell and :censored: were there.

Viduka's two goals were class, Cullina and Thmpson too. When I say class I mean finished well - the Solomons as could have been predicted fought well but pretty much gifted all the goals to the Aussies with bad defending or the goal keeper's clangers.

There were still too many lapses in concentration by the Socceroos IMO - defenders taking their eye off the ball and it rolling under their foot etc.

Still it's a done deal that it'll be Australia vs. one of the South American teams for the last World Cup place. Fingers crossed!
