Wooa hold up here, you guys are going on like Stevie g is running LFC. Just cause HE says that he wants owen here doesn't mean that because of this hes defo coming. Its down to the people who actually run LFC like rafa, moores and parry, not gerrard.

Liverpool NEED OWEN!!!

Benitez and Lpool need Owen, plain and simple. Owen in this Lpool team, would be the perfect addition to challenging for the Premiership.
Benitez keeps quoting that we have 6 Strikers.
Lets see:
1 Cisse? Great pace and strenght. But he lacks vision and his technique up to now is not great. Surely he will improve.
2 Morientes? Lots to prove. Good technique, no pace, needs accurate passes into him. Thats not happening. He should cut the ice eventualy.
3 Baros? Seems to be getting pushed out. Good striker. Bad form at end of last season, but he is not getting enough of a chance  to prove himself in my opinion, but if he goes we have......
4 Crouch? Widespread doubt on this Board and suprise in general from neutrals that he was bought by Lpool. No pace for through balls. Good in the air, but needs accurate pases to him. A lot to prove.
5 Mellor? Plain and simply, not LIVERPOOL standard. Yeah scored a great goal against Arsenal last year, but thats his claim to fame.
6 Sinama-Pongolle? Again not LIVERPOOL required standard. Think of greats of the past. Barnes, Beardsly, Aldridge, Rush, Dalglish, OWEN!!!!etc...Mellor and Pongolle are nowhere near this standard.
So really we only have 3 strikers, Cisse, Baros and Morientes. But with Baros's imminent departure likely, thats 2 stikers.
So Michael Owen is most definitly needed at Anfield, Back in a winning Liverpool shirt.

I think once Baroa has gone Michael will sign 3 days later.. it says so in my crystal ball!!
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

Hey JMac, you seemed to have some inside knowledge about the owen situation, is there anything new to develop?

Nothing yet mate.  Just what I said last week.  I'm convinced we will get him though.  He is coming.  Simple as.  All that is holding it up is so called red tape.

about 2 weeks to go before the transfer market closes.
and we need a centre back and a right winger badly.
and apparently we will get owen.
i think ALL transfers will be finalised after the CSKA sofia game.

Thanks JMac.

Hopefully we can have Steed Malbraque, Owen and a Center Half tied up before the next game.
