We don't need him.

I don't see Rafa selling someone for 8mill only to buy him back 12 months later, spending at least an extra 50% on top.

Maybe we can sell Ste G now for 30mill and buy him back next season for 45

Just a thought...........

Peter  lad  i think you forget  that we sold Owen for 8 million and also Nunez who was valued at 3 million , so if we buy back Owen for 11 million then we havent paid anything extra for him  and lets not forget that  Real  owe us 4 million still for the sale of Owen to them  so in effect we will be giving them 7 million quid  .

Im not sure if you read Jonny Mac,s  bulletins   but i believe what he says about Owen coming back

i think owen is not coming.
for the simple fact that if owen did come, he is the type of player that wants to play every game.
rafa has more or less stated that cisse is his number 1 striker.
rafa has also splashed 7million on crouch so he'd have to use him quite a bit.
nando is also a favourite of rafa's.
ALSO........we have pongolle and mellor (luis garcia + kewell-other possible strikers).
that would be 8 strikers in total!!!!

Disagree with that statement. I don't think there is a "number one striker", instead there are  strikers who give us different options and possibilities.

Do you seriously think we can depend on Mellor if our main strikers get injured? He's simply not good enough. Luis Garcia and Kewell can both play as strikers but neither of them are natural strikers.

So if no one offers the amount you want, Baros stays and you have 5 strikers when you play only 1 upfront?

All speculation!  If Owen comes he will be part of a luxury that us fans deserve!A great forward line that can all score goals!
I've said it before,if Rafa wants him he will come! Nobody on this site or any other site knows the politics of the ifs, whys, buts n maybes of the situation.
All we do is speculate and wonder what comes next!Im sick of links im sick of :censored: talkin Wanabees that suport a rising team cos they see potential in LFC!Lets all just watch Raffa make a good thing great! And feel pride in the fact that we love the best team in the world!YNWA

Your confusing MO with Milan "moaning" Baros my friend who bleats every time he is dropped or on the bench  ???

The truth is Michael Owen is the model professional and even at LFC when he was dropped to the bench you never heard a word of dissent from the lad.

We may well have 8 strikers according to you but NONE are as good as Michael Owen i.e WORLD Class !

Agreed...and he can score more than twice as many goals per game than Baros.

I'd take him back in a heartbeat

I'm not going to get into debate over those that attend games and thsoe that don't attend but ask those that actually used to go and watch the lad in the flesh and 99% of them would say they'd love to see him back.

I believe there are some misguided fans out there who have this belief that he somehow left us in the lurch at the emd of last season by opting to go to Real Madrid.

The relity is it was his goals in season 2003/04 that secured us 4th place and a shot at the CL which we subsequently won  ???

Surely thats just what Owen IS doing? If he was a model professional, he'd stop whining about being benched at Real, and wouldn't be looking for an escape route. He never moaned at being dropped at LFC cos he was never dropped! Houllier thought the sun shon out his a*se and played him in every game he was available for. And I have seen Owen live at Anfield a few times, and the last time (Charlton Athletic in the Prem, 2004), he looked as interested in LFC as I am in knitting. - Not at all.

I would appreciate his goals if he came back, but I will never like him. Simple as that.
