No 1 - Sergio Ramos
No 2 - Mexes
No 3 - Collocini
No 4 - Daniel Alves
No 5 - Marchena
No 6 - Jorge Andrade  :D

No 1 - Cost waay too much. We're talking at least £15m, no BS
No 2 - Wont leave due to Roma's transfer problems
No 3 - Only Signed for Deportivo in Jan.
No 4 - Not even a CB.
No 5 - Could you see Carra going the other way? same thing.
No 6 - Is the right one, hence the interest from rafa.

Also i'd like to add:
Givet (monaco)
Alex (PSV)
Cris (Lyon)
Escude (Ajax) or even
Heitinga (Ajax) to that list.

(Dutch and French based players are easily dispensible)

Carragher scored two own goals in the same game against Man U. We lost 3-2. I say shoot him now! (OR, view these things as a learning curve which top players use to better themselves.)
As long as we get a good CB, I don't care who they are. But they must be tall, strong and quick (as well as possess the obvious defensive attributes.) A fast Hyypia, say.:p

Don't rate Bouma at all mate.  He reminds me of Balde a bit, strong and quick but no positional sense at all.  Even a slowing Hyypia is a much better defender IMO.

i said French and Dutch BASED players dude.  :grinning:

Anyway, Cris will probably go to Real and would cost too much. IMO Hetinga offers the most potential for CB and RB.

I can't believe no-ones mentioned Woodgate, even on loan

I'd like to see either

Nesta
Upson
Anton Ferdinand
Pablo Ibanez

For the wing - 1 obvious target would be Joaquin, but too expensive, but a more possible target is Xabi Prieto from Real Sociedad. Hes a Spanish U-21 international that is very highly rated and would cost around £7m. What do you reckon?

Nesta - 31. It's like a more expensive Pellegrino and completley defeats the pupose of signing a replacement for Sami.

Upson - The sensible choice. Young, solid, good and it never hurts to bring in another Englishman. I like  :nod

A. Ferdinand - More of a risk, but a good choice provided he doesn't cost too much. We don't know what he's like at this level yet, but I wouldn't mind a butchers.

Ibanez - Yeah, why not. But I'd rather have Upson.

As far as wingers go, I really don't have a clue any more. With Figo, SWP, Joaquin, and all the other hot choices snapped up or staying put, I really do not know. The name that rolls of my tongue Exteberria (spelling?) and also AVDM. I still think that we are more likely to see a tip top player come in January for the wing. I still think Rafa needs to  :lookaround

He’s never played a game for real and heard on the radio yesterday he’s got another injury. A fully fit woodgate yes but no way the way he is now. Personally I don’t think he will play again and if he does it will be be in lower leagues.

Both good shouts, Exteberria is a fantastic talent and would be my preference but Andy Van Der Meyde is another very good player. Castlelen is another one hwo has been mentioned.

Another one I can think of is Simao Sabrosa at Benfica (he is the captain in fact). He comes form the Sporting Lisbon youth academy originally which produced both Luis Figo and Cristiano Ronaldo. I really think he's quite a good player, very quick and skillful, scores a lot of goals and his crossing is reasonable also. He is a regular in Portugal's national team and is in the prime of his career. He'd probably cost at least 5 million pounds I would think, but personally he's a guy i'd like to see here.
