Benni McCarthy is a good player, but he is no Roy Mackaay or Thierry Henry.

Sammi Kuffour is perhaps the only African player I can think of that consistently makes a big impact at European level. Kuffour is an excellent defender.

I think this is a fallow period for Africa, but its probably only a trough in its otherwise upward development. The talent is certainly there.

If the African Nations Cup was the showpiece of that continent then it will  be years before a champion team will come from there. I don't understand your point about Heskey, his first season with us was a success by any standard and he has since been played out of position and asked to do jobs which he is unsuitable for. If EHD had brought similar results since coming I wouldn't have a problem with him.

Hip Hip Hooray, I actually got you thinking but not much further than your nose, let me enlighten you a bit. Your great English team played a game in Durban South-Africa last year June and South-Africa fielded a side with players from the first division, because most of its first team players had commitments at European clubs(their employers)the best England could do was 2-1. Don't compare apples and pears mate compare with one another. Point is still, England don't have quality players of their own to field against the likes of Brazil and France(with African players). The best English players is Michael Owen (has been),Emile Heskey (Quasimodo), David Beckham (screw the ball) and Wayne Rooney(Shrek). On any given day an African side will whip their butts. Back to club football, LFC was thrashed by our local teams(sadly) since European football is suppose to be superior.

Once again without all the foreigners and the foreign support the premier league is dull and the support base is much bigger outside of England than what it is in England.
