Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

we are selling him at perfect time and in the end i think it will be Liverpool who get the better deal out of this

agreed.  Rafa now has the money to buy whoever he likes....i'm quite excited because i think he has the resourses to put together a team to challenge for the Premier

I dont 'think' he has, I 'know' he has. Let him work his magic.

There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

But now we need to sign another central midfielder, like Van Bommel providing he has already signed for some one else, He was on a free so.

Also i would like to sign Shaun Wright Phillips especially as we just got loads of money.

Good Bye Stevie G, hope you and your agent are happy. We all thought you were different.

lol, like the agent comment  :D

Van Bommel has signed for Barca  :;):

See CGGY this is one of reasons its probably not a good idea having so many local lads in the team. Because when they move on its break your heart a helluv lot more then when we lose some foreigner.

I say one-nil to Liverpool. I think Rafa and Perry handle it absolutely right. They can see there was no doubt Stevie planned to move out and was draging his feet until we have no choice but to do a fire sell on him (remember Owen on this one?) with a possibly lower fee and a hefty bonus to be paid out. So the club made him a lucrative offer (knowing he probably won't take it) or force him to put in a transfer request (which he did) and allow Real Madrid and other clubs to come in and start a (possible) bidding war...at least this is how I analyse the situation.

There was never a doubt (although I wished for otherwise) he will be leaving us after sending all the wrong signals throughout the season, so this transfer request should not come as a surprise to many of us here. He thought he could use our lack of success as an excuse but that was blown away at Ataturk so what's the excuse now heh?

I believe in time we will see this as a blessing in disguise as Rafa's team are never about just one man anyway...walk on

Just take a deeeep breath everybody. This is where messrs Moore, Parry, & Benitez show exactly what sort of business acumen they possess. The dark clouds have only just rolled in to Anfield. How we fare in the next few days (tranfer fund wise) will determine the extent of easing the pain. But sheerly based on past episodes and the way our management have been bluffed on previous transfers, I am more than a little concerned. 30 million? I hope we can escape with 10 million, a fairly decent exchange player, and nice bottle of port thrown in for good measure. Fingers crossed we are not bent over for everyones amusement this time.  ???
