Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Hamza » Tue Jul 05, 2005 3:27 pm

this really makes me wanna give up on football i mean i thought there were only a few real men left in the game Stevie and Cara but everone loved Stevie beacuse he played for the club not his weekly pay cheak which is way to high now he wants to go to chelsea were he won t have the same hero status as he does at LFC or to Madrid coz that worked out so well for our mate michael owen, remmember we used to have great young english players like Owen fowler thompson barmby mcmamman and now stevie ti really makes me sad that there are no real player like in the old days, there is no way we can buy the commitment that stevie used to have it is gonnna be very hard to replace him if he goes to madrid we will proberly get some other crappy spanish player like nunez to replace him i still don t understand why he would wanna go i can t wait till he gets lost and we never have to haer from that :censored: again if he comes back to anfild wat a recpetion he will get i can t fuking wait  :veryangry  :veryangry

The Return of the Judge wrote:we all know no-one person is bigger than lfc, however, didnt talks break down, according to his agent. if thats the case, then fault is at lfc's door, not stevie's.

he said after cl win, the talk would be good, he, as far as i know, kept his talk good, but perhaps lfc didnt keep theirs good.

it is important for a club to pay the right money for a player who is total committed and world class. in todays money, 100,000 wouldnt have been enough for his skills. so if lfc would not meet those mediocre demands, then we deserve to lose the quality that gerrard undoubtedly has.

i envy the club who signs him for the wages he can command, that is fact people. if roy keane is on 120,000 a week, then surely stevie's worth 150,000 a week of anyones money.

think about it folk

i'm sad that he'll be going, but not surprised, as lfc seem to hold back on decent sized salaries for quality, when theirs kewell earning money for old rope - it dont make sense

so as much as i love lfc, i feel they have let the fans, the club, and gerrard down. remember, we are not privy to the internal politics that run liverpool fc. so lets just get on with it, and look forward to a brilliant up and coming season

YNWA

I'm sorry Judge, but I don't agree with that. I have found fault with Liverpool for a lot of things over the past 15 years, and I do not think Liverpool FC are responsible for this. In fact, in a bizarre way, I think Parry, Benitez and Moores have unwittingly damaged the club by pandering to him this past year.

I know we are all angry but i wish Steven the best of luck and hope he gets his wishes. Since after the Olympiakos match when he said "you never know" i knew he would go.

Reaons to be happy

Fear not though fellow Kopites.

1) Similar scenes like these took place in Spain 2 years ago when their own SG Mendieta requested to leave. And you all know they won the league 2 years in a row.

2) We wer already going to spash out as it is on many new player but with the SG money we can afford some real big name and Rafa is good at getting deals. He did get El Morro didnt he?

3) Even when Everton lost Rooney look how well they did after

4) At least now there is no more me me me, ambitions for me.

5) Im sure he will go to RM to link up with DB and MO. But the funny thing is that they all left for similar reasons. To win big things with the biggest club.

Well correct me if im wrong but they havent won anything in 2 years and if anything ahs happend to the form of both David Beckham and Michael Owen, its dropped dramatically.

6) Becasue of his stature many people have noticed but not paid attention to the fact that he has problems linking up with other player, which is why you never really saw him link up with Garcia or Morientes or Alonso well. Those are team players. This is the sole reason why he was shifted into defence in the final so that the jobs of the midfielders could be undertaken peoperly.

as i said jbg, we are not privy to internal politics. maybe in wrong, or maybe im right. it dont matter, what matters is that lfc continue to get better and winning (or seriously challanging) the title again, would go along way to healing our wounds etc

dont you agree??

I think Aimar will be back on the cards, with Benitez wanting to play a 4-2-3-1 - Aimar is perfect for that formation as Valencia already play it

I believe Liverpool will be better off from this deal.  If he goes to Real...i think we'll get 35 million + a player.  Owen back?

I'm disappointed like everybody else, but I don't think this is a case of a cold, calculating player taking us for a ride, like McMoneyman for example. Stevie is a tremendous player at his best, but the plain fact is he was not at the front of the queue when the brains were handed out. I think he's been swept along into this situation by others - players, managers and above all those prize @rsewipes from SFX - whispering into his ear, and doesn't have the nouse or strength of character to be his own man and just tell them all to f'ck off. Ultimately this is just another top class footballer whose skill (and perhaps greed), and the rewards it earns for him, have outstripped his ability to cope with them.

Stevie son, thanks for all you did for us, but you are making a serious mistake. The clubs who want you are not nailed on to do any better than we will, as you should know better than anyone after Istanbul. You're a Scouse lad, and not a particularly mature one at that, and you'll not easily be happy anywhere else. Money is important but it isn't everything, and you're about to find that out the hard way. Don't let the door hit your @rse on the way out.

Agreed, not really sure how its LFC fault

In a perverse way the last season of Houllier where Stevie G got all these plaudits as single handly getting us into CL qualification seems almost to have put this into effect

Good luck to him, least we are selling him at perfect time and in the end i think it will be Liverpool who get the better deal out of this

Bob Paisley :
"There's so many clubs been ruined by people's ego. The day after we won our first European Cup, we were back at 9:45 in the morning, talking about how we would do it again, working from that moment, because nobody has the right to win something they haven't earned."

IMO i think we have a far better player in Xabi Alonso. It is now obvious to everyone that Steven Gerrard is only interested in making money. NOBODY including Gerrard are bigger than LFC
