Baros - Finished at liverpool?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

personally i have no question marks about his work rate and ability - in most situations. someone mentioned on one of these threads that his best work is almost like a right winger and i kind of agree. he often pulls people all over the place when he runs into those positions and causes all sorts of trouble. i love that part of his game. but as a main striker he's been found wanting on a number of occassions recently.

"the lad was head and shoulders above most others in Europe at the recent Championships - "

That was nine months ago and he hasn't shown that form since .

"Alright - he could have had a hatrick yesterday
other days - he scores hatricks"

    Remind me of the hatricks he has scored .

Some of us were brought up watching the likes of ,Keegan ,Rush , Dalgliesh , Aldridge ,Fowler , and Owen .

Baros is nowhere near the quality of those playes .

To be fair to the fella , he does get into goalscoring positions on many many occaisions , guess some of us are getting frustrated with his inability to convert more of them .

I think Baros is very competitive in nature and that's why he lost his composure. He was frustrated as missing the chances and was just caught up in the movement. I'm sure he is regreting now but these kind of thing happened on the pitch and its just the only way Baros can learn. I think if we as fans continue this kind of reaction towards any of our players, nobody would want to play for us. I think many of you need to know that he didn't do it on purpose. Sometimes you score a spectacular goal and sometimes you misses a easy tap in. Its just the way football is. So, just chill. By the way, do any of you think Baros looks like Adam Sandler......  :D

I just can't make up my mind about Baros. He is a good player but misses too many easy chances to be a top class striker. I don't think he is good enough for LFC i think it will be bye bye in the summer

Haven't had a chance to get on here since yesterdays win but am dissapointed to find 2 threads + more than 7 pages slating Baros after the lad played well yesterday and we WON the bloo.dy game. He ran the bluesh.ite back four ragged for 70 minutes before putting in an admittedly shocking challenge (have seen a lot worse from our captain mind) which i'm putting down to the atmosphere and the fact Stubbs and co kicked the ****** out of him all game long.

If i didn't know the result i would have assumed we'd lost the game after reading this tripe.

Remember Milan 1 on 1 with Sorensen at Euro 2004...what a goal! He just needs confidence that is all.

people seem to be putting a lot of faith in cisse`s return.
i wasnt overly impressed by him until he started to play wider but before that his body language was awful. and after such a bad injury who knows what he`ll return like?
in my opinion i think we should keep baros, if rafa tells him just to welly the ****** ball instead of trying to overcomplicate finishes i think his goal tally will increase.

AND

he will be really fired up for the CL fixtures now that he is missing out on domestic action.

FACT IS
if we are going to progress in europe we need milan baros

milan baros is a good striker with lots of skill, yes he can play bad games, but so can Zidane, Henry, Ronaldo etc.

SUPPORT BAROS, SUPPORT THE TEAM

On average how many goals do Ronaldo and Henry score in a season?  Baros' ability is no where near these 2!

look at the sides they are playing for, besides baros`s international record is as good as anyones at the moment and all the so called experts say thats the true test of class.
ronaldo is playing ****** by the way, he wont be at real next season. and remember henry`s sitters against us at cardiff ?
they were worse than milans.

Yeah...but Ronaldo is nearly 30, old for a striker.  When he was Baros' age he was scoring +25 a season.  I think it was in his first season with PSV he scored something like 35 goals!!

Compare Baros with Ronaldo....I just don't think so.....

your comparing baros to ronaldo in his prime why not compare him to pele whilst your there or even gert muller?
the point i`m making is milan is a good striker who makes things happen, whilst he does miss a few he has still scored the same as the likes of rooney who everyone raves about.
he caused everton a lot more grief than morientes and the chances he missed he created himself, no one fed him through or gave him a five yard tap in.
by the way we are not exactly flush at the moment either, so to replace baros would cost a few bob.

It still doesn't make him a killer striker.  We need a stiker who can give us 20+ goals per season - regularly.  Money and emotions aside, Baros, just isn't a great striker.  If we want to win the league, we need quality.

I think he plays best when he is up front on his own so he has the whole area to run into and he knows he can do whatever he wants without passing to his strike partner and just run with his head down which it looks like he prefers to do .
