Sad sad day! - Technology introduced for the world cup

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Yeah, some fans amaze me....!  Manure vs Spurs...enough said.

With the technology the ball crosses the line and the ref hears a beep in his ear.  What's wrong with that?  We're in AD not BC.

Don't be silly, how is it a sad day? It stops teams losing points etc, if it were already in place Everton would be in The Championship by now, atleast then you will know that you haven't been cheated out of a match and can come home more satisfied

All part of the unpredictability of the game which is what makes it what it is.

Small teams beat big teams because of mistakes and this makes the game interesting. When this stops, the game dies. Any FOOL / COMPLETE IDIOT who wants technology brought into this sport and HUMAN DECISION AND ERROR MAKING takin out are need to be castrated, have there knee caps shot off then burnt alive!!!

The beauty of the game was its the same at sunday league level as it is at premiership level, this is all about to change. Absoloute sicking disgrace. Go and watch rugby if you want to watch a predictable heap of ******.

Some people never fail to amaze me. Mistakes are part of this grea games histroy. How dare anyone try and change this? ****** the lot of ya!

I love the game because of the skills, simplicity and unpredictability etc. but defiantely not for bad decisions made by incompetent referees. I am all for technology...but up to a certain degree.

Bring it on I say.. lets move with the times.. and create a game worthy of living in the 21st Century .. not one that chooses to reside in the Jurassic era.. and looses it's appeal for future generations...

BTW it is a pilot.. to be tested ..

So what technology is going to stop a fat cokehead Argi from handling the ball into the net?

.. it's called a ref with a sharp eye   .. the same breed that pulled Linekar bak for doing the same against the dutch .. :p

... and the "Argi" was a fit, non-cokehead when he became world champion OK.. Respect the Talent that was

If it doesn't slow the game down then good, if it does then get rid of it. Video replays would be terrible. controversy gives us something to bitch about. keep the game simple.

It could be like that stupid eye at wimbledon which always beeped at teh wrong time.

speaking of new technology, weren't they supposed to be testing out this new ball with a microchip in it yesterday? ???

there would then have been conclusive proof that kezman's goal wasn't over the line. :p  :D

technology has been changin the game for years........

boots are lighter and are able to produce more spin/control on the ball - kit material is lighter/more flexible, even streamlined in some cases - balls are lighter and fly quicker....... the games got much quicker, the games evolving  --  its a natural progression to use this technology......

As someone said, it won't stop clowns and cheats like Maradonna and Saviola using the hands to gain an unfair advantage.

If won't stop goals that are offside...

What if the ball crossed the line, however the player was then found to be on video a couple of innches offside?

Then you're moving the goal posts again. Once its brought in for one thing, it won't be long before its brought in for anything. Anyone who want's this isn't and never will be a REAL football fan.

Why didn't you say a word about the new ball? new boots? artificial turfs?

Its not video, its only a chip in the ball. It will only help the game to move on. Stop whinning on it.

There are always diving and cheating referees that technology can't help much with.  Video referee will not come into the game at all. And whoever brings video referees into the game should be "castrated, have there knee caps shot off then burnt alive!!!". Rugby is just as beautiful a game as football.

decent post, but disagree that rugby is just as beautiful as football, can't see how you came to that conclusion?  ???

I play rugby too. Its a very nice game/sport.
I even play tennis and golf!
But football... I have to read about it everyday, play it once a week and think about it every minute.

And for american sports especially American football, it's not football at all. :D
