Goaline technology is suposedly going to be introduced for the world cup.

It was just on bbc1 news before match of the day.

.. the technology will be implanted in the football.. and when the ball crosses the goal line.. it will be indicated.. It is truly a sad day (NOT) when the game moves with the times.. when the errors and injustices may well be eradicated in terms of effecting the outcome "was it over the line or not.. it was the TV replay showed it"

Bring it on I say.. lets move with the times.. and create a game worthy of living in the 21st Century .. not one that chooses to reside in the Jurassic era.. and looses it's appeal for future generations...

BTW it is a pilot.. to be tested ..

So what technology is going to stop a fat cokehead Argi from handling the ball into the net?

Don't be silly, how is it a sad day? It stops teams losing points etc, if it were already in place Everton would be in The Championship by now, atleast then you will know that you haven't been cheated out of a match and can come home more satisfied
He comes from Spain and he doesn't speak good English,
But we don't care cos he'll turn us into winners,
The European Cup will be ours before he's finished,

This is a stupid thread. Yeah, better take the technology out of the modern day because its better to have a game that is solely down to the referee who is caught up in a betting scandal, obviously biased, and will slow down the game by 2 seconds. What a joke, we need this technology to farkin help the sods who DONT GET IT RIGHT MOST OF THE TIME. Sorry but its either that or have an extra referee on the pitch, because obviously the job by 3 officials are not doing the job correctly.

Sad day will be for ManU who is forecasted to lose up to 10 league pts per season due to bias or incompetence referees decisions

good point Santa, over the last 10 years man u would have had 11 more games if the goals would have been given if the ball could have been seen to be over the line, i also can only think of one time it would have gone against liverpool, lucky they did not have it in 1966

We should have 1 referee and 4 linesman. The linesman will act as assistant referees. Afterall, there are 3 referees in basketball and the basketball court is much smaller than a soccer field.

4 linesman so that 2 on each side of the field. I am sick of players outrunning the linesman and thus the linesman gave crappy decisions on offsides.

I'm not a fan of video replay in footie but this idea shouldn't slow the game down because i gather video replay will not be needed. I assume the chip in the ball will simply tell a computer if it has crossed the line or not. Don't they have something similar in an Ice hockey Puck?

As long as the technology doesn't compromise the tempo of the game i don't mind.
Atleast we won't see anymore Roy Carroll blunders going unpunished :D

i`m not a big fan of complicating the game with technology because i think part of footballs attraction is its relative simplicity compared to other sports, and controversey is as much a part of football folklore as anything else.
then again if i was alive a hundred and twenty years ago i`d probably be saying what do we need nets for?  :D

All part of the unpredictability of the game which is what makes it what it is.

Small teams beat big teams because of mistakes and this makes the game interesting. When this stops, the game dies. Any FOOL / COMPLETE IDIOT who wants technology brought into this sport and HUMAN DECISION AND ERROR MAKING takin out are need to be castrated, have there knee caps shot off then burnt alive!!!

The beauty of the game was its the same at sunday league level as it is at premiership level, this is all about to change. Absoloute sicking disgrace. Go and watch rugby if you want to watch a predictable heap of ******.

Some people never fail to amaze me. Mistakes are part of this grea games histroy. How dare anyone try and change this? ****** the lot of ya!
