I don't think the guys up @ nasa can figuare this one out....

This isn't the 1st time he had come-up with a starnge 1st team line-up. What do u expect from a biscan & hamann midfield combo ? They ain't gonna create any chances.

1) we are short of player in our next game (v. Laverkusen) as both Alosno (injured) and Gerrard (suspended). He played Biscan to give him some match practice and have a better look at how to best fit him in.

2) I would sacrifies Biscan and play Nunez on the right with Smicer taking over after an hour. But for reason (1) above, he played Baros on the right to use his speed and to give a more balanced formation. Wrong move on hind sight

3) Riise looked tired afther the midweek international but he was our best option moving forward as his speed gave Tebily a tough time all night.

4) That I cannot understand

Gotta say out squad are wafer thin right now. It's time to unleash the youngster and probably LeTallec should play some part of the game last Saturday.

That is what baffles me. Does rafa seriously think a hamann & biscan formation can create chances for the team ?

Playing hamann & biscan = hoping for a 0-0 draw @ anfield....

1. Alonso is injured
2. Gerrard is suspended
3. Hamman and Biscan are the only central midfielders we have available for the game against Leverkusen.

what about simcer ? garcia can double up as a central midfielder ? What about La Tellac ?

Warnock can certainly do a better job there.

By playing biscan there (just for the sake of playing) is like having a 10 men squad. AB i know you like biscan & all this bican=legend stuff was funny for a while.... But if you can criticise gerrard for ****** caring about the team, then what about biscan ?

How many times he touched the ball when he played ?

Smicer? Are you joking? What has he done that makes you want him to play in that position? He doesn't even the damn match fitness to play in such an important game.

Garcia as a central midfielder? All this time you've been saying that Garcia is not a winger which he isn't and he also isn't a midfielder either.

No I don't like Biscan, trust me I am not happy that we have to play Biscan but we have no other "NATURAL" central midfielder. What you're suggesting isn't any better because we might as well play Mellor as a central midfielder as well.

Smicer likes to be played on the right btw.

La Tallec,Smicer and Garcia are too of a simular players to be played in Central Midfield.

With Gerrard suspended and no reliable CM to field, why don't we put a solid defend and play a more counter-attack football (i.e. we are really underdog).... 5-4-1 ?

Well it's nearly March and I carn't wait until this season is over
(AGAIN)
I know we have a new manager and i know he needs time.
But by the turn of the year every season for the last decade and more, all i here is, give the team time and next year we will be competing with the chelsea's and Arsenal's
FINE
I just hope I don't die of old age by the time our situation changes.
The only thing worth looking forward to is another worthless cup final. (it's a good day out if nothing else)

Smicer - just back from long-term injuries, not fit for 90 mins just yet. I think he planned on playing Smicer in the 2nd half and see if Biscan can come through with a decent display?

Garcia was suspended for Saturday's game. I though you have problem with him losing possession while he plays at the right wing...playing him in central midfield? You are out of your f**king mind.

Simply putting players there and playing them out of their usual position is not the way to go. I thought you agreed to that and criticise Rafa for playing Baros on the right. Here you are suggesting that he play Warnock and Garcia in the heart of midfield? Why do you want to contradict yourself so desperately?

I would sooner play Carragher in the centre of midfield, move Troare to centre back and Warnock at left back, at least they are comfortable in all these positions...but hey, I am not the manager right?
