thats the bit thats open to debate, plenty of people on this forum have ideas about players and management,id start with martin o neill,he is the right man for us.he seems to instill confidence and self belief in his players.he makes players rise above themselves.can houllier do that? not as far as i can see.Oneill is a winner who makes players want to die for their club.you saw that with celtic v lyon last week.there was no man of the match because they all played out of  their skin.they cared about their manager and wanted to match his passion. He makes average players good,he makes good players great.at anfield he can be the new shankly. As for players well we have two world class in owen and gerrard and a few good ones-baros,rise,kewell,kirkland,hypia,finnan.everyone has their opinions on players but i would trust mr o,neill to work something with that lot,as i said he makes good players great.lets be ambitious,go for the best, and let him get on with it.

Let's start by getting the basics right...get a new manager who can start building PROGRESSIVELY (not regressively like GH) from the next season onwards, then we have a better chance of becoming a top club once again. It was very unfortunate that during Liverpool's golden era, television and commercialisation was not like it was today and because of that, the gulf between today's elite and the other teams are huge in terms of financial ability and consequently the general ability to buy and keep top players. Having said that, Liveroiil is still a big club in that Houllier has been given an obsene abount of money over time during his reign but due to his bad judgement, a large chunk is simply wasted.
Life is a cycle of ups and downs and we may not be on top today but our time will come. Only thing is that, with a good management, squad and supporting foundations, the good days may come earlier. So, I say that it is time to get rid of Houllier and move on.

GH should look realy hard at the team he is trying to build. players like toure,le tellac and brouno cherou are not ready for premiership soccer. maybe next two years...and that maybe. we need a bit of strength like nadved of  juve or even maybee a brazilian attacking midfield to support gerard and let hamman take of midfield defence. wake up GH we know u r trying but isnt 5 years good enough to already have a strong team and winning and beating teams like portsmoth,southampton,bolton...hello WAKE UPP. please

We need to become a big English club before we can look to be bossing Europe again

To become a 'big club' in England again, first and foremost we must add some steel to our defence.

I think you should all get off Heskey's back, fair enough he's not the greatest player to ever wear the Liverpool shirt but if the rest of the team showed as much commitment then maybe we wouldn't be dragging the disgusting results we are at the moment

Hesky is a fine player but not what Liverpool need, I think they should give him at least until the end of the season before giving up on him.  He cost them £10m so they should try and get value from him.
