Galatasaray v Liverpool Tue 10th March 17.45

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby damjan193 » Tue Mar 10, 2026 5:24 pm

Just to remind everyone this one is an early kick-off.

It will be a tough game as these tend to do well in front of their crowd but we already know this from the match we lost earlier in the season. Hopefully we've learned a lesson or two from that match and we manage to beat them this time or at least not lose and finish the job at Anfield later.

Same old story. But let's just keep doing the same thing over and over again hoping that somethings going to change. Get Slot out before he completely destroys the season.

Fook me, that was a painful 47 mins of toothless play, schoolboy defending, miscommunication between players, and absence of leadership from a so called captain. For me, VVD is absolutely not a captain. No voice, no leadership, no commitment.
Macca is fookin hopeless tonight, afraid to put in a shift. Gravenberch goes down way too easily. The whole team is too soft.
Oh for a couple of players from yesteryear with a pair of balls. Right now, I don't see one in green.

That little b0ll1x Yilmaz. Every time I see him play I want to see him badly hurt. Always goes down like a sack of spuds under contract

We're lucky we're not 2-0 down, I have no idea why their goal was disallowed.

Does the manager know he's allowed to make substitutes?

That was a defensive sh1tshow! What is incredible is it was only 1-0 which states the obvious….. it was an offensive sh1tshow  as well. 15 shots with 6 on target. Even when we resorted to Arsenal tactics we couldn’t score :help

The only positive thing you can say about last night is that we are still in the tie. Turkish sides traditionally are nowhere near as good on the road as they are at home but that doesnt mean we should allow ourselves to become complacent, that big lad up front who's name begins with O looks like he has got a goal in him and if they score at our place we'll have a job on our hands to get through to the next round then, we'll have to score 3 on the night or 2 and pens and after what happened last year at this very same stage i'm nopt sure i fancy pens

I heard that they haven’t lost a European playoff match there since the seventies (unless I heard it wrong). Also they will have no fans at Anfield. I don’t really have doubts we will get through but when then? If we play defensively like we did and miss as many chances as we did, we will not progress. Teams that can play like that will not win the cup. If we play like that against a good team we will get embarrassed.

The positive thing about drawing Galatasaray was always the fact that they're a very different side away from home. We knew it was going to be tough in Turkey but looking at their away record in Europe this season, the reverse match at Anfield SHOULD be a different story. The way we're playing at the moment though I wouldn't put it beyond us to screw up the home match as well.
