It's an understandable fear but IMO there's simply not too many decent managers available at the moment, if any. Chelsea are about to sign Liam Rossenior, I've no idea who that is tbh. Google says he's the manager of a French side and he finished 7th in the league last season, and he previously managed Hull in the Championship. He might turn out to be decent who knows but his CV is nothing to write home about. Those are the kind of managers that are available at the moment.
I think both Manure and Chelsea jumped the gun on their managers tbh, especially Chelsea. Maresca wasn't a bad manager imo.
I remember Rosenior. Hes English and played mostly in the championship with a few clubs. He might even have played in the prem about 10 years ago with Hull or Brighton but not 100% sure.Chelsea announced him anyway on a 6 year contract
Thats a big gamble but im sure hes delighted
United seem to be leaning towards Olly again, albeit on an interim basis till the summer. Pretty sure thats how he landed the job last time as well. I think both clubs where rash to sack Maresca and Amorim considering where both clubs where before they took over. United especially have more points on the board now than at this stage last year and are in the hunt for CL. Strange to get rid now and jeopardise that but rumours are that both where having issues with the hierarchy because of their reluctance to promote the youth. Strangely enough similar rumours are doing the rounds about Slot. Was reading he wanted to send Rio on loan this season but was blocked by Hughes and Edwards. They apparently wanted to see a clear pathway into the team this season for both Rio and Nyoni but neither are getting many minutes and they arent happy.
Clubs want to use youth to increase their profile and drive up their value. They represent 100% profit but its a risky strategy for managers at bigger clubs where the demand to constantly compete is sky high. If thats the criteria for the jobs then it rules out a lot of big names who might not see the risk worth taking.
Emery would have been my choice after Klopp and would be again if we decided to part with Slot.

) that will find the way. This year no player has had a standout year. Last year Salah, VVD, Konate, Gravenberch and Allison, were world class. MacAllister, Robertson, Diaz, Trent were very good. I still don’t see Slot as the problem, I am frustrated at the cliff we have fallen off but I think sacking a title winning manager after less than two years and after a massive investment in the squad would be detrimental in the long term.
That is pure greed right there.
