Bournemouth vs Liverpool - Sat 8th Dec (12.30pm)

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby Pig Catcher » Fri Dec 07, 2018 4:32 pm

Clyne, Gomez, Lovren, Ox, Solanke and Brewster are all out injured. Mane is also doubtful to feature based on what Klopp said in his press conference earlier. With a make or break game against Napoli only 3 days later Klopp may be tempted to leave one or two key players on the bench. Maybe something like this.

                          Alisson

Trent          Matip          van Dijk          Moreno

                          Fabinho
             Ketia                      Wijnaldum

                 Salah                Shaqiri
                             Origi

Subs:  Firmino, Sturridge, Milner, Lallana, Henderson, Robertson, Mignolet

Klopp's pre-match press conference.

I'd leave that midfield fresh for Napoli (Fabinho and Wijnaldum) and play the same midfield as against Burnley.

I'd go with:

           Alisson

Trent   Matip    van Dijk   Moreno

          Henderson
      Milner     Keita

  Shaqiri            Firmino
             Salah

Must win game as it is the early kick off and an opportunity to put a little bit of pressure on City.

I'd be tempted to play a strong side and worry about the Napoli game when we get to it, Bournemouth are a tough side to beat on their own patch (as we found out to our cost in that 4-3 game).
I'd go with this

                                            Alisson

Trent.                      Matip.              VVD.                    Robertson

                           Fabinho.               Keita

                                         Shaquiri

                    Origi.                                        Salah

                                         Firmino

I'd like to see how Keita and Fabinho cope anchoring our midfield, I'd also like to see Shaquiri play centrally where I feel he's at his best and I also feel that Origi's best position is as a wide forward in a 3 man attack where he can use his pace to good effect.

Bournemouth are a very talented positive football kind of team..They will go for the win..I really hope we will come with a positive assertive approach to this game or we will be down pretty early.

We have to rotate in this one because after Napoli we host mannure.

This won't be easy and it is one of those games where you don't care how we win. I'd take a scrappy 1-0 win.

The problem is with Gomez injured its going to be very difficult to rotate VVD.

Couldn't see him being rotated anyway. He'll probably sit out the FA Cup games only. Not as big as issue with CBs. And especially with the the way VVD plays.

Liverpool: Alisson, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Milner, Wijnaldum, Keita, Shaqiri, Salah, Firmino.

Subs: Mignolet, Mane, Henderson, Sturridge, Lallana, Origi, Alexander-Arnold.

I dont see a recognised RB in the starting 11...? Maybe he is playing Fabinho or Milner there?

If Milner plays RB that's a good side, we have a great chance today to apply some real pressure to City, they play Chelsea at Stamford Bridge later so we could even finish the day top.
We haven't really played well all season but crucially they haven't shaken us off, now would be a great time to start clicking into gear.
