The ban is harsh on us, but only one to blame is Luis. Irrespective of what other players have done he has now bitten a player 3 times.
The laughable comments coming from Uruquay and the player about how he lost his balance and fell onto his shoulder are a bit embarrassing.

Jesus - just for the record I did not say that "you weren't very bright" that was actually Bungle during one of his rare moments of diplomacy. What I actually said was that you are "an absolute fkg clown" !! Now that we've cleared that up let's have a look at some of the points you made:

Barton: Beats up a team mate and puts him in hospital. Has a criminal record for violence. Basically he is just one very nasty violent fkr on and off the pitch. Keane: His intentional career ending tackle on Haaland that he boasted about in his autobiography. Suggest you read this http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... -2001.html YOU BELIEVE THAT SUAREZ'S BEHAVIOUR WAS WORSE THAN THESE TWO SELF CONFESSED THUGS?

Biting: Why do you place it so high up in the pecking order of wrongful behaviour on a football pitch? You actually regard it as worse than a leg breaking tackle! Ask most professional footballers what they would prefer. Before I looked at the YouTube video of Suarez's first stupid biting offence I actually thought he had bitten a piece out of another players ear such was the level of hysteria. You seem to have joined that somewhat mindless bandwagon. Would you honestly prefer a barbaric leg breaking tackle to a barbaric bite that didn't even break the skin?

Morals: Maybe just maybe my view would be a little different and I would be able to recognise the seriousness of the offence if indeed football was played to the rules and with a very high level of morality. That is not the case. Players constantly trying to con the referees by feigning injury and trying to cheat is just one important example of the morality displayed in football and the example these highly paid professionals set for our children. Morals do not exist in football on the pitch or the terraces. Strachan makes some good points about morals, perhaps this will help you understand where I am coming from http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/footba ... achan.html

What Suarez did was wrong but the reaction to his behaviour has been absolutely crazy and is a key reason why he has received such a harsh level of punishment.

So do we sell Suarez?

I'd say no way, the team is in no shape to throw in some third rate replacements. All the names mentioned are way off, Sanchez has never mentioned wanting to leave Barca to my knowledge.

Do what you have to, psychologists, a muzzle, drugs, whatever it takes... you keep your best players.

He can still return, play the rest of the season and be top scorer again.

LIVERPOOL will launch a plea to FIFA to allow football outcast Luis Suarez to continue to train with the club during his unprecedented ban

Suarez has been suspended for four months from all football related activities in addition to a nine match ban involving Uruguay internationals in the aftermath of his bite on Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini.

If that is upheld – with the Uruguayan FA and Liverpool planning appeals - then it means the 27-year-old striker wouldn’t be allowed to enter Melwood, Liverpool’s training ground, until the end of October, missing at least 13 games.

Suarez’s defence against his charge of biting an opponent was that he lost his balance and hit his face on Chiellini’s shoulder.

In his submission to FIFA’s disciplinary committee, Suarez said: “After the impact I lost my balance, that destabilised me and I fell on top of my opponent.

“At this moment I hit my face against the player leaving a small bruise on my cheek and a strong pain in my teeth and that’s why the referee stopped the match.”

But the panel’s ruling stated: “He bit the player with the intention of wounding him or at least of destabilising him.”

However, Liverpool will rebuff any bids for the forward whose release clause doesn’t come into play because Liverpool have qualified for the Champions League.

Barcelona are still keen but they will be told nothing less than an offer of £80million would be considered for the former Ajax player.

In the meantime, following talks between manager Brendan Rodgers, owner John W Henry and chief executive Ian Ayre over the weekend, Suarez will be supported and his situation reassessed during the January transfer window.

Former boss Kenny Dalglish, who brought the controversial striker to Anfield, had no doubts that Liverpool would back their beleaguered star.

He said: “I think you will find that Liverpool will not turn their back on Suarez.”

Dev wouldn't even get into an arguement with hustler/Jesus. He's an idiotic wind up merchant with no clue about anything. He will be banned again as soon as woof logs in and sees he is back.

The argument that it's the third similar offence so it should be a longer ban doesn't hold up. If Zidane hadn't retired after the game, that headbutt on Materazzi would still only have resulted in a 3 game ban for violent conduct despite him having a previous history of headbutting opponents.

AS yakka said if he kept his teeth to himself then we wouldnt be discussing a ban but at the end of the day he hasnt learned even after receiving bans in the past for biting.

Its harsh on us that fifa would further it to his club career but the only person to blame is Suarez

You are right he can return, but fact is he will miss nearly a quarter of the league campaign.
What if he does it again?

You keep your best players but....I am not so sure now how much more of this the club can put up with.
If Barcelona put in a big bid, personally I wouldn't be that sad if he were sold and we moved on. He is a world class player but we can't go on like this.

Im not defending joey barton. He belongs in walton nick like the rest of his family :)

What shocks me, is wen Suarez decides on "doing" an opponent, hes not even clever about it. They had microscopic cameras on it within five mins of him doing it. At wat point do u decide..." i.know im gonna bite you!"
Its bit weird behaviour.

If he nutted him, and sparked him out, I will look the other way ;)

Luis Suarez could earn £40million playing for Barcelona - but only if he agrees to a special 'bite clause'.

The Spanish side are offering the Liverpool striker a five-year deal worth £160,000 a week to move to the Nou Camp.

But Barcelona chiefs are insisting that the contract contains special clauses to ensure that he behaves well both on and off the pitch.

Suarez has already been banned by FIFA for fourth months after his World Cup shame which saw him bite Italy defender Georgio Chiellini . It is the third time he has bitten an opponent in his career.

Barcelona are anxious to ensure that he behaves well - and also recognise they will need to appease some of their supporters.

Liverpool are demanding £80m while Barcelona only want to pay £50m total, which could include Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez as a £30m makeweight in the deal.

Barcelona will also back Suarez in his battle to fight the ban or have it reduced. Suarez is believed to be ready to hire top lawyer Juan De Dios Crespo who is a specialist in sporting cases.

Suarez, who maintains his innocence and claims it was an accidental clash after he lost balance, is ready to take his case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne, Switzerland.

his ban is going to get overturned  :nod only a matter of time imo.
if we are resigned to losing him then it should be on our terms and not whatever barca think they can offer us. it has to be 50 mil + sanchez or we are being rode. if sanchez isnt interested then they stump up the full 80 million or he stays whether he likes it or not.

Totally agree. What's the point of having a world class striker if he's banned for half the time?

Alas, for me, this lad has blown it. Yes, he's a great player, but he's an awful person and the sooner he's gone the better.
