Suarez's position is untenable, it's as simple as that.

On that note, he's put a blanket ban whilst on international duty with the media about this issue and he's even asked his Uruguayn team mates to keep quiet about it - I wonder what that's all about.  ???  :eyebrow

He clearly will be isolated from the team until the end of the transfer window. Then depending on his attitude to apologising he may be invited back to training sessions before his ban runs out.

I personally cannot see his pride preventing him from apologising or at least speaking to th club on the matter. It will kill him if he doesn't play football, my feel is this will be resolved by the end of September. I think he will remain with us till the end of the season at which point WE will put him up for sale.

The irony being if we do make the top 4 what his intentions of leaving will be then??

That doesn't say he can't rot.

a/ Even if we play 50 games, Suarez can feature in 6 of them.
b/ His circumstances are considered - they could be favoured towards the club.
c/ It's case by case - which means the rule isn't absolute.
d/ Suarez won't be around to terminate his contract within 15 days of the last season (next year), he'll be gone by then.

He can rot if the manager so decides.

Next....

yes we can, let him rot in reserve to teach him a lesson. but why must we?
it is financially not feasible..
assuming we forgone a transfer fee of 50m plus his three yr annual wages of (100k*4*12*3)= 14.4m
three yr rotting on bench = 64.4m equals to 21.5m per yr.

i think all this talk abt suarez not going at any price is just a negotiating tactic. he is going as he has burned all bridges.

Letting him rot in the reserves will not benefit us at all - his price will go down and we will still pay his wages. Selling him is the only way it will end without more trouble

Well since you advocate selling him to Arsenal, our rivals, I think your opinion on this matter is largely irrelevant. We can let him rot in the reserves until January then sell him to some desperate CL club who just squeaked into the playoffs for £60 million+. This will teach him a lesson and make us more money win win.

Maybe the same kind of people who paid £50 million for Torres a January not so long ago. January prices are always inflated Benny, you know that, at whatever else he is Suarez is one of the best strikers in the world at the moment.

So which team Heimdall !

Suarez is at the same level of players like Cavani and Falcao and both went for below £60mil and they dont have baggage attached to them.

We wont get anywhere near £60mil for him. At this rate about£40mil will be his fee ( maybe less as the season goes on )

The ball is in our court over Suarez. This season is before the 2014 World cup and Suarez will need to be playing. if we refuse to sell him he will not go on strike at risk of ruining his world cup chances.

The only way he will go is if he hands in a transfer request and Real offer 50m. Although we are now well into august so replacing him will be difficult

If Uruguay qualify ( chances are they might miss out ) - they will have Suarez in their squad regardless of what happens

It's a shame he is such a knut... else we might have been able to talk silly figures like Bale. Also other teams around Europe would have surely been interested in him.

Pretty much Bav- without the baggage teams would be queuing up right now to sign him

Going on the last few months, it will be a miracle even Lourdes would hail ,if Suarez manages to keep his grid shut during another spell
of international duty.

Well, will the Arsew1pes put in another offer, this time £50+m ? that is what is being reported.....

I still maintain that if he is sold, then it will be to a club abroad. It doesn't matter what is being offered for him by an EPL club. If he was sold to an to a club here, the fans would be right up the Owners backs like a shot....they'd (owners) be mugs after the John Henry's statement 'won't sell him to EPL club at any price.......'

Maybe it's a good thing that Luis has a few slates loose. One club has shown interest and I'm not convinced they are serious. The other major players are nowhere to be seen. If Luis carries on like this we've got him until the end of his career because nobody else will touch him with a barge pole. Just a thought (and not to be taken too seriously)
Net Spend Over The Last 5 Years 20/21 to 24/25  (10 years
are in brackets 15/16 to 24/25 )
LFC €300m (€420m)
Everton +€33m (€211m)
Arsenal €557m (€853m)
Spurs €571m (€684m)
Chelsea €945m (€1051m)
Man City €370m (€1038m)
Man United €687m (€1240m)

Totally off topic, What is Football Manager?  Is it FIFA?  I've played FIFA a shltload over the past decade or so (funny enough all the top young players from earlier FIFA , Hazard in FIFA 09, Goetze FIFA 10 etc all become top players 4 years later) .  Really though.  What is Football Manager?

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.
