Luis Suarez signs for Barcelona

SCS teams can prob get him right now for around £45mil , if Madrid bid that then it's a fair chance he would leave. Why if they aren't bidding for him now would they suddenly bid for him in 13 months did even more ?

Also Uruguay are struggling to qualify for the World Cup

We will never get anywhere near £60mil - if both Falcao and Cavani can't go for £60mil then why would Suarez with all his baggage.

I really don't know what's the deal with you Benny. You know how the modern game works and you've mentioned it a number of times. Players like Suarez are the norm, players like Gerrard are a dying breed. It was important to keep Suarez in this transfer window and the club did a great job. Sure, the new contract is probably no more than just a pay-raise and maybe a release clause, but keeping him now will at least give us time to look for a replacement, while he keeps banging in goals until then. Bottom line is, you have to do your best to keep your best players, and if in the past it was a big problem of ours (and we all complained about it) this time we succeeded.

Whether Suarez goes or stays, one thing he will do and that is give 100% when and wherever he plays...that is part of his character.

We all know he will, except Benny of course.

Benny thinks he will go through the motions for the remainder of the season.

Crazy!

And none of knows exactly what will happen - we can only give our opinion of what Suarez will do.

What I do know is based on evidence is there is a high chance that again he will cause controversy in the season and drag our name through the mud ( if he stays ).

Our club and fans have never before accepted the type of behaviour we have seen from Suarez and I still believe in that - him being a wonderful player doesn't excuse his actions and I will count down the days until he is gone.

Luis Suarez: Liverpool striker has not told club he wants to stay

By Ben Smith
BBC Sport
Luis Suarez has not contacted Liverpool over his future despite being quoted in Uruguay that he wanted to stay.
The striker is reported to have said: "For now, due to all of the people's affection, I will be staying."

The Suarez saga

29 May: Drops a big hint that he wants to leave Liverpool after saying he finds life in England hard.

12 June: Suarez reiterates his love for Liverpool, but insists life in England is very hard.

8 July : Liverpool turn down a £30m bid from Arsenal.

24 July: Arsenal offer £40,000,001 for Suarez, triggering a clause in his contract.

2 August: Says he will consider a formal transfer request and the possibility of court action if his Liverpool dispute is not resolved.

7 August: Suarez says he wants to leave Liverpool to join a Champions League side.

8 August: Told to train alone by manager Brendan Rodgers, who says the player has shown "total disrespect" for the club.

8 August: Liverpool owner John W Henry insists striker Luis Suarez will not be sold this summer - no matter what the price.

However, the 26-year-old last week stated he wanted to leave Merseyside to play for a Champions League side.
He is due back in training on Friday after scoring a goal in his country's 4-2 friendly win over Japan in Rifu on Wednesday.

Liverpool, who have rejected two bids from Arsenal this summer, had urged the striker to accept he will not be sold.

The latest media report originates from a journalist who has close links to the player and the El Observador newspaper also says Suarez may sign a new contract.
Suarez, who joined Liverpool from Ajax for £22.7m in January 2011, scored 30 goals in 44 appearances for Liverpool last season.

But speculation has grown about his future since he was given a 10-match ban in April for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic.

The player was angered when Liverpool rejected Arsenal's bid of £40m and one pound, which was designed to trigger a release clause. He believes Liverpool had failed to honour a verbal agreement by turning down the offer - and outlined his frustrations last week in interviews with two national newspapers.
But that appeared to harden Liverpool's stance, with owner John W Henry saying Suarez would not be sold to any club.
Manager Brendan Rodgers ordered Suarez to train alone, told him to accept he would not be leaving Anfield and said he needed to apologise for his conduct.

Possibly he will.

But I am confident he wont be going through the motions, he will give 100%. Not for us, for himself - that is the player he is.

And just as he is selfish, we should be. He will be a tool at our disposal to achieve our goal of CL re-qualification.

I can't be confident on anything he does - but you are right he will do it for himself as opposed to the fans or the club. And if he stays then I expect it all to start again in Jan.

Bloody hell, what is your life like, it must be unrelentingly dull and grey? Try and cheer up will you, please. Try to consider the glass half full rather than completly empty. I gennuinly recommend you read some articles on positive thinking becuase I dread to think of your general state of mind if you are this negative in all aspects of your life.

i agree Suarez is a scumbag, we all do, but if he can still be usefull to us this season, and I think he will be vital then surely that has to be a positive, hwo can it be anything else??

Remind us all again what you were like when we were "only" getting CL football and what you wanted to happen ?!

You calling anyone negative is the most hypocritical statement I have ever witnessed.

Unlike you I prefer to focus on the present. I already told you that these days I prefer to be less argumentative and also be more positive, I wish you'd take a leaf out of my book, I'm sure most on here would agree.

Ill carry on my beliefs until I see things that make me change my opinion. I'm certainly not going to change it because it upsets a few posters on here.
