You're right, I have been a die hard Liverpool fan for the last 37 years and I hope to see Liverpool crowned champions again before I go. The club like any corporate company or family have their own internal problems. I don't see anything wrong with highlighting out the problems if they are really there and right now I see a lot of things with the ownership that I disagree with and do not like. And highlighting them out does not mean I am a rival fan.
Now back to Suarez, though I don't want him to leave despite his attitude problems but I still stand by my stance that I don't blame him for wanting to go. Imagine you were him, South American, born to a poor family in Salto, Uruguay, not a Liverpool fan, gifted with world class football talent, you would want to play for a club that can pay you millions and win trophies almost year in year out and play in the CL every season. The club that he's at now doesn't look like will be offering him this kind of glories for this time, maybe in 5 years when the kids have matured and by then he may be too old. So, I cannot find a good reason on why he should not go to RM if they come knocking. Yes, he would be the Greatest Hypocrite of All Time if he goes to a rival PL club and don't know how he will look at the face of every Liverpool fan if he does.
Fans should look at what's wrong with the ownership instead of falsely believing just because we're Liverpool, everything will go smoothly. My greatest fear is that FSG ambition does not match with us fans and that is to win the PL title frequently. I fear that their ambition is only to make money and that's it and don't care about bringing back the glories. Nothing wrong with wanting to make money but they must know that what LIverpool stands for and that is to be PL champions again and again... For the younger fans, did you know that at one time during the 70s and 80s, for Liverpool to finish 2nd was an absolute disaster? Today, we're only talking about finishing 4th. That show how much we have fallen from grace.
We have changed as a club - but not for the better, we failed to grab the money when it was on offer, we failed to take advantage our success in the 80's and as the 90's arrived we thoought we could just move along without adjusting or changing the way we operate - Souness arrived and just ripped the club apart - we stood still commercially and we were too arrogant to do anything with our stadium - all the time the Mancs took advantage of everything and just grabbed every opportunity and overtook us in the end - now they are massive both commercially and on the field. They were untouchable until money arrived in the prem - big money with Chelsea and then City - we again made another massive mistake by selling to G&H and watched as they ripped the club apart on and off the field - fans watched as the best players in the world left and our best manager in 20 years got kicked out ( with the blessing of fans ) and since then we have just nosedived.
The owners have admitted they know nothing of the game and put their initial trust in Comolli and Kenny but kicked them out after 18 months and they then appointed an unproven manager - we are now currently a mid table team - we are buying players that say that we are a mid table club and that is what players like Suarez see - they arent going to hang around for "long term" project , when we dont move forward quickly enough players like Coutinho , Agger etc will be next to leave.
12 months ago the owners had a choice - get in someone proven , someone who could attract players and who was connected and expeirenced around Europe - they decided to get for BR for the "long term" - that should blinkeredness towards the current situation - we are miles away from the top 4 clubs and then another decent amount amount from the 5th best club - currently those clubs are looking to sign or have signed quality players to improve them even further - whilst we pick unknown unproven "prospects" and watch as our one true quality player is lookig to leave - Suarez is leaving ( or trying too ) because of where we are as a club right now and that blame lies with the club.
