:D

The use of the George Baker Selection "Little Green Bag" and Steelers Wheel "Stuck in the Middle" in Reservoir Dogs was masterful as was some of the stuff in Pulp Fiction, notably Chuck Berry's "You Never Can Tell" and Dusty Springfields "Son of a Preacher Man".

Since then however what was once Tarantino's inspirational use of popular music woven into the soundtrack of his films has imo steadily declined to the point were it's no longer novel, surprising or even interesting it's  become just a bit ho hum and lazy.

Watched it last night, thought it was pretty good although at times I found myself getting a bit fed up with some of the "Tarantino formula", more specifically the soundtrack.

What was once retro and refreshing is now becoming a bit hackneyed, face it Quentin, anybody can dig into the charts from the 60's and 70's and stick a tune in a movie, how about you try and come up with something original ?

Yeah agreed. I tend not to watch too many of his films these days because of that. So when I saw Djando it wasn't too Tarantino cliche for me.

Every film he's made after Pulp Fiction has been a major disappointed, Kill Bill was absolute dog excrement.

Raid Redemption. Indonesian flick with an Irish director/writer.

A 'better' version of Dredd. Same premise atleast.

But much, much, much gorrier. Love the fighting sequence but find myself cringing/looking away at times, just can't handle a guy being cut with a broken  fluorescent lamp.

Are you kidding me Kill BIll was a work of absolute genius, judging by your usual b0ll0cks posts I can only assume it went a bit above your head  :D

Now for an incredible film experience I highly recomend Life of Pi, fantastic story and beautiful cinematography.

Seven Pyschopaths.

Good with some laughs, worth the watch but can't help feeling a bit disappointed, somewhere in there was a great movie that they didn't make.

Lincoln . Found  the latest offering from Steven Spielberg dry and disappointing, the movie may hold some appeal if your a student of American history, outside of that I see no other reason for sitting through it.

Don't be fooled by the "trailers" you may see, there is practically zero spectacle in the film just interminable political discussion and "horse trading" inside Washington as Lincoln attempts to get the 13th amendment to the US constitution (the one that abolishes slavery) passed through congress.

If I'd gone to bed instead of watching this I could have had two and a half hours of more memorable sleep.

A "better version of Dredd" it certainly ain't. Dredd is the much better film, but that's not to say The Raid doesn't kick ***** either. Anyway, Dredd was written and produced before The Raid even began shooting. Just thought I'd point that out.

I saw Argo (Ben Affleck) on the plane the other day. Being nominated for Oscars I expected something better. 5/10.

I saw Argo on a flight also, I thought it was really good. 8/10

It's funny because I take so many business flights nowadays that I categorise them in the number of films I can watch and how many meals.

Boston (5-7hrs) - 2 films, 1 meal
Los Angeles (9-11hrs) - 4 films, 2 meals

Are you hacking my computer ?

I was looking at the Stalingrad trailer AND that Wily Coyote pic just yesterday !

Looking forward to the Russian made Stalingrad film, hopefully the love story between the German officer and the Russian woman doesn't spoil it.

Watched loads of movies recently but none that were worth writing about, I'm having to dig out some old stuff to watch again  :(
