skrtel can count himself a bit unlucky, none of our centre halves have played well this season but he seems to be carrying the can.

Because we were even worse when he was alongside Agger

were we? i dont buy into all this carraghers sorted us out malarky.
people forget that when carragher was in the second string side we conceded 3 against swansea at home and 3 against udinese at home.
when he took over from skrtel we blew a 2 goal lead against arsenal, a 2 goal lead against city, we conceded 2 at home to west brom, 2 at home to spurs, 2 at home to chelsea and it was his mistake that knocked us out of europe.
yesterday we were lucky that we didnt concede 2 goals from bad defending by carragher.
as i said none of our CB`s have covered themselves in glory this year, wether it`s skrtel/agger or agger/carragher it hasnt made much difference, we still look very shaky at the back.

Go and recall the early prem games with Skrtel at the back

Carra gave us a voice at the back

Skrtel IMO has always been overrated

He throws himself into tackles too much and is very clumsy

20 years ago he would have been perfect.

Maybe my memory isn't the best but off the top of my head I can remember Agger costing us more goals than Skrtel. He had a dodgy first half against Man Utd but his form prior to that had been better than Aggers and I think he is right to consider himself unlucky to be dropped after the Utd game.

As Benny said, it's because he can't hold a high line and because he's very clumsy. I think that he's a good defender but if you want to be in Berndan's team, possessing certain qualities (that Skrtel lacks) is a must.

early on in the season skrtel was playing in a team full of 18 and 19 year olds and everyone was trying to get used to playing in a new system, anyway, as i said none of our defenders have covered themselves in glory this season.
everytime someone crosses the ball we have looked like conceding and thats been the case from practically the first game. carragher has really struggled to cope in the air, against spurs he was floundering and he wasnt much better yesterday.
we desperately need a arielly dominant CB.

We do need one - that isn't Skrtel though.

crying to the media every five mins hasn't helped his cause and i'm pretty sure he'll go in the summer.

Injury forces Daniel Agger to miss final games of Premier League season

DANIEL AGGER will miss Liverpool FC’s final two Premier League games of the season to have treatment on an ongoing back problem.

The Danish centre-back has started 35 of the Reds’ 36 leagues matches – only missing the visit of Manchester City due to suspension.

However, he has had to be carefully managed by the club’s medical staff who have decided Agger now needs to have injections in a disc.

A club statement read: “The club's medical team and associated specialists have decided to undertake a series of elective injections to enhance the stability of the defender's back.

“Undergoing the treatment means he will miss the remaining fixtures against Fulham and Queens Park Rangers.

“Liverpool believe this pro-active action and planned rehabilitation programme will have llong-term benefits for the 28-year-old's career for both club and country.”

Will this recent development on the injury front see Big Martin return to the fold ?

If Skrtel is to be sold then i wouldnt mind seeing Wisdom giving a run in the middle.

I agree. Wouldn't mind Sama either.

Also, I'd like Johnson to be rested as well. It's very frustrating to watch him at the moment. I'd like us to give McLaughlin a go.

Good shout on Johnson, the lad is fecked and needs a rest.
Young Mcloughlin is going to be a top player and it would be nice if he was rewarded for his progress with a first team appearance.
Maybe QPR at home would be ideal.
