The media call this a crisis at Liverpool now that Borini is injured. Whose fault is it that we have such a thin squad esp. up front? Brendan's or FSG's? I would put it down to both. Now we're depending on the youngsters in Morgan and Yesil to fill up the void. Like I said before this is just like Hitler calling up the Hitler youth to defend the Fatherland at the last days of the Third Reich.
IMHO, FSG so far have been mean with investing, they wanted the youth to be gradually promoted to the first team in a few seasons time and hope they will become world class. What they have overlooked is, the club will be lingering down the bottom half of the table for the whole season and our star names will be gone by next summer. A scary outlook indeed if they persist on with this. Something is wrong with them, look at their Boston Red Sox, they are now at the bottom of the Eastern Division in the American league. And I used to think they generously funded Kenny with the huge 120 million to spend, but that's not true, most of that money came from the sale of players like that sulking bloke to Chelsea etc. They funded only around 50 million at most. If they're not only to do something at the January window, we'll end up playing good football but cannot win games.
Brendan, when he came for interview, I think FSG needed him more than he needed the job and he should have made it clear to them right from day 1 that for him to take the job the condition would be for the owners will have to fund him with at least 100 million every summer. Because a club like Liverpool should be challenging to win the PL every season and today's football you need that kind of money to compete. Otherwise what's the point with no money like now and most likely ended up mid table at best. He could have stayed at Swansea where just remain in the PL would make him a local hero but with this kind of performance at Liverpool which we will be for the whole season, his job is not secure and the fans' patience with him will run dry. Because we are Liverpool not just another club to make up the numbers.
Again let me repeat what I said in a previous thread and I was scolded for it, it is this, if by January no or insufficient funds are forthcoming from FSG, if I were Brendan, I would have to give Mr.Henry and Werner an ultimatum, "Back me with the funds to get player so and so... and if you're going to be stingy, then sack me. The club is not going to challenge for any honours if you carry on like this, I might as well stayed at Swansea where I was well liked minus the stress of managing such a big club."
I personally, am sick of FSG. Let's see what they will do in January and I might change my mind.
