Since when have Spurs been our rivals? Last I checked it was Everton and Manchester United.

He may be a legend for you lot, but Liverpool's season was beyond poor, the signings were atrocious, and a fresh start was probably needed.

I can tell you from a rival's perspective, we'd have preferred him to stay on.

oh look a spurs fan being patronising.

you can tell you've had a couple of decent seasons in the last 30 years.

but you can't really argue with what he says, you can only really have a go at him, not the words...

We do need a change.

The statement from the owners implies that even if Liverpool had beaten Chelsea in the FA Cup Final Kenny would still have lost his job.

This is what english football has become reduced to - desperate scrambling for the top four positions because of the financial rewards it brings. They should rename the FA Cup the Mickey Mouse Cup who cares about it anymore?

it`s a pity the united board didnt see things the way you do when he finished 11th and 13th in consecutive seasons.

Sorry mate, I don't get you...

ferguson had a terrible time at united when he first went there, there were flags in old trafford telling to f*** off, the everton fans threw cushions and handed `kendall out` flyers out at the turnstyles at goodison when howard kendall was in charge, bobby robson tried to resign at ipswich.......all turned it round in spectacular style.
one bad season means f**k all

I'm both shocked and disappointed however I trust Kenny when he says they handled it with dignity. He will always be part of LFC and I doubt very much he will be overlooked for some other role in the club.

I hate the football industries tendency to be knee jerk (might explain why some many idiots on here are the same to be honest) however at least clubs are consistent. Both United and Arsenal will not show the same loyalty to their next managers as Fergie and Wenger have been afforded, that's a fact.

I'm torn over who I want to replace. Benitez got stale here last time but under new owners who actually have a vision he may be able to achieve things. Martinez for me is a risk, a risk not worth taking. If you are going to sack Kenny you must install a manager with some sort of CL track record.

Its not really about scrambling for top 4, its more the fact we were about 16 points from relegation and well over double that from winning it.

thats not what a Liverpool supporter should be happy with

I accept that I just think it'z bizarre that a manger of Liverpool has been sacked after winning a trophy there's no way he could have gone after winning two trophies though of course that is hypothetical now.

Rafa is an interesting proposition ... what he did back then was amazing considering the squad and funds - he SHOULD have more funds and a couple more depth players this time around .. hmm ...

I'm sad to to see Kenny treated in this manner and If FSG think we'll be happy with a legend being replaced by some supposedly up and coming flavour of the month manager they can f'uck right off.

i'm not overjoyed at it, its not 'the liverpool way' but I can see why, and its time to actually support the next manager, all of us, whoever he is

Can't say I'm too surprised. I reckon it's obvious that they no longer trusted him with their money.

However, I wanted him to stay for another season atleast and sort out the players, including the disappointing purchases this season.

Whoever comes in, will perhaps have their hands tied yet again, meaning they may have to sell a couple of the failures to shore up the transfer kitty. I'm sure FSG will provide a healthy sum, but perhaps not healthy enough to move us into CL qualification for 2013.

And for anyone thinking Carra (saw a few posts on this thread), you're well advised to drop that thought. It ain't gonna happen.

Tony Barrett Twitter "Looks like Liverpool need a new assistant manager too. Hearing Steve Clarke has left out of loyalty to Dalglish."
