Thats just the top sides. We got outplayed and outpassed by Swansea home and away.

Trying to put some positive spin on our worst league season in 50 years is just weird, and desperate. We have an eighth place squad and have gone backwards after spending 110million. If Kenny is sacked (which i dont want btw) there could be no complaints.

We beat Arsenal at the emirates, beat chelsea twice at stamford bridge and were narrowly beaten at old trafford. Yes we lost when we shouldnt have but some of our performances were great and we deserved more than we got. There would be plenty of complaints if KK was sacked from fans who appreciate whats happened this season. The positive spin is merely the optimists who seen some good stuff and believe we will be better next season

Exactly, both draws at Utd and City were undeniably lucky for them. We lost points on those games for failing to take chances, regardless we outplayed them.

I daren't mention all those other league games where our statistics looked like were were bombarding a lower league side in the FA Cup yet somehow failed to score.

If a new manager came in finished 6th, didn't win a cup but was four or five points off fourth scoring 60 goals next season I doubt that the fans would want him out. If it was someone like Hiddink there would be questions given his reputation if it's someone like Rodgers or Martinez then you'd feel that they'd made a reasonable start and had the potential to go further with the team. The problem is that a year ago Kenny's win ratio in the league was about 60% and this season it's about 40%. If there's not going to be many new signings it's hard to see what will change unless the likes of Henderson and Downing in particular improve week in week out. Carroll looks ok he should double his tally at the very least.

Look at the season can you honestly say we played bad?

We missed Lucas for most of the season along with Gerrard. Even Agger missed a large portion

Suarez was suspended for 9 games.

Carroll has got his confidence and has been very impressive at the end of the season.

Finally look how unlucky weve been hitting the bar and post as many times as we have??

Have some optimism please i have said before we are 1 maybe 2 signings away from being up there again all it takes is a bit of patience and belief

We were only about fifth or sixth when Lucas got injured still had only won half the games though I accept that had everyone been fit for the whole season things might have been different.

I hope you're right on the future certainly we need to be more clinical in front of goal it isn't just down to bad luck that we hit the woodwork 30 times.

was watching the final phone in show of the season on LFC tv before and some fella from crocky was on kicking off about the owners, some other fella was on from down south somewhere (he was a scouser) and he made some great points, in the studio they sort of mentioned that liverpool and swansea didnt have much to play for and it was reflected by the poor game but this fella was saying how about playing for the fans who shell out big money to support them home and away and how about playing for the shirt.
apparently kenny is on his way to boston for a meeting with the owners.

Agreed. I fear it says something worrying about the players' attitude that we responded with so many dreadful performances post-Arsenal defeat. The fact that that defeat killed our chances of finishing fourth was no excuse not to try and make the best of a bad situation, especially since a lot of players still had a whole lot of proving to do -- Downing being the classic example. How we responded this season is completely the reverse to how the team responded when Kenny first took charge with the team already more or less out of the running for fourth. Back then, despite our worst start to a season in 50+ years, the players looked keen to impress the new manager and it showed in both the quality of our performances and our results. We averaged top four form in that six months. By contrast, we averaged relegation form in the 12  games post-Arsenal defeat (35 points if projected over 38 games).

Through the wind and the rain, except when the team can't finish fourth?  No, we need to maintain a winning mentality at all times, and treat each and every game as an opportunity to build for the future. That we failed to do so is one reason amongst many to be concerned about the progress of the team.

There was another chap who said Kenny's cup final selection was shocking because Shelvey should have been in the team ahead of Henderson and Spearing based on his performance at Norwich. He went on criticise Kenny's transfer record last summer and said that Hiddink would be a decent replacement to which Gary Gillespie replied about the cup final lineup and then said 'he's made some good points' which was a bit revealing I thought.

Apparently Kenny and Steve Clarke have gone to the US to meet the owners.

been at work tonight and come home to se reports on twitter that theres a big meeting in america with the owners.

Key members of the coaching team, apparently. But i very much doubt they would summon them to the US to sack them...

hmm, seem strange to call them over and not just give them a video call lol
take it the owners are going to show them how to do their job the american way lol

I think FSG's end of season review will be a damning one and I think Kenny will be told go away and sort things out. He'll get investment again and he'll have a very short time to show improvement in performances and results. If we carry on in a similar fashion at the start of next season that we have done since January then Kenny won't be our manager beyond October.

yeah, i was a bit surprised how many times fairclough and gillespie.....i wouldnt exactly say put the boot in to kenny but `expressed their dissappointment` is probably a better way of saying it. whenever someone phoned up and had a go at the team or the manager as you say they just seemed to nod in agreement. then again i suppose there`s not much they can say, they cant exactly turn around and say everything is great.
fairclough sounded a bit p1$$ed off with the players when he had a go at them about their desire and the money they are on.
usually those phone in`s are non events but that one was a bit heated.

I hope FSG sit with him and start off with a comment Kenny made, something like, "now, about nobody leaving the club....."
