Ordinarily the manager would lose his job. However because its a club legend that makes it 50:50 (the owners recognise that many idolise him).
Personally i would give him another season, but If he isn't no-one could have any complaints. Di Matteo for instance has won the FA Cup, got his team to a CL final, finished 6th, and hasn't spent a penny...yet he could lose his job.
It boils down to whether or not Kenny will be given more funds to bring in quality this time. Do the owners have enough faith to give him money for signings after the 110million outlay already?
If he isn't given funds then he should go now as the squad we have now will finish no higher than 7th next season.
To see Swansea outplay and outpass us home and away this season was a marker of how far we have fallen. The midfield has never been so w**k. I used to enjoy typing out the XI but now i rarely do, it makes depressing reading seeing Shelvey, Henderson, Spearing, Adam contending for central spots. Their previous clubs (Charlton, Sunderland, Blackpool) was about right for them, the other a youth player whom we would never have actually signed. Lowest number of Premier league points ever, lowest number of wins ever, five wins at home all season, long running Anfield records broken by teams such as Fulham and West Brom, a team that often looks to have no method, very few patterns of play, disjointed midfield, no balance, no one having any idea how we will play from one week to the next. The buy British policy was a catastrophic error and Comolli paid for it.
We need a seismic overhaul of the squad, so if Kenny is given another season, i would trim the squad right down to the bare bones, and lower the average load. There is no point just having bodies around the place if they aint good enough.
