I suspect it'll be another Lucas all over again - a young player who is played by a manager who believes in him, when the rest of the world doesn't, only to finally be proven right.

Though, I still think he has been played too often and especially too often on the right.

Much easier to be a fan than a manager... :)

It would have been much better for him to have come here when Alonso-Masch was the midfield, and then blood him in slowly.. getting a season or two under his belt. We have thrown him straight in and hes nowhere near ready.

We need to sign a bonifide quality midfielder, a Javi Martinez.. and then slowly bring on Henderson. That way if he isnt good enough, it wont have as big an effect as it has done this season when hes been thrown in at the deep end and we haven't controlled games.

he was never brought to play as often as he has imo. we've thrown him in because lucas and gerrard have missed half the season through injury. adam has been injured aswell. had they been fit then i'm sure henderson wouldn't have played as often as he has.

He played a lot at the start of the season as well when we had everyone but gerrard fit. It looked like Kenny considered him a right winger to replace Kuyt.

Henderson has potential, but did we really need him?

He is your typical "young lad with potential comes to a big club" type of guy. He is overawed and it shows. He is literally the new kid on the block and has yet to stamp his authority. He looks like he is mild mannered and always eager to please. But hes also sh'it scared of making mistakes, which only makes him fu'ck up even more.
I have no doubt the kids got talent but he needs to grow a pair and play to the best of his ability. At the minute he looks lightweight and frail.

I think your spot on here buddy. But i think he needs that to progress further. Next season if gerrard and lucas stay fit i think he will have more of a bench role and i think he is going to mould into the "new Stevie Gerrard" I rate Hendo highly as he is such a young player and has shown potential i do think however he is playing out of position and would be more of a threat if he had 10 minutes in the centre than 90 on the right.

i actually thought he was our best player yesterday and was very good against blackburn. it's no coincidence that in neither game did he play right side of midfield.

as others have said, it's not about the ability with the lad, it's the mentality. in many ways he sums up what's wrong with the game in this country and why england will never win anything. because he doesn't charge around at a million miles an hour, spray balls all over the place and whack shots at goal from all angles like gerrard does, people think he's not contributing enough.

I would just like him to be more adventurous and confident. I dont want a superhero.
I just want someone who doesnt give the ball away cheaply, who wins tackles, distributes well and creates chances for others.

people need to stop looking at the individual attributes of players and look at the team. the problem we have now is that every young central midfielder we bring in will be compared to alonso which is unfair. alonso is the calibre of player who doesn't come around very often. lucas had the same. whilst he was developing, people were unhappy because he wasn't an alonso or a mascherano. henderson is not a lucas and he's not a gerrard. he's jordan henderson. paying £16m for him and then playing him out of position for the majority of the season has been madness.

Hendo was man of the match  against West Brom ,he delivered a  good strong performance( with no little invention ),with some intelligent
passes and was unlucky not to be on the score sheet ....Early days for this lad ,but mark my words there was a reason old Taggart wanted
this lad so badly last season .

rubbish him. goes missing. waste of money blah blah blah.

honestly the kid is going to be some player. don't know how some can't see it. same with shelvey. stick lucas in behind them and that's a decent midfield trio.

If we have a midfield trio of Henderson, Shelvey and Lucas where gonna finish 8th again you can bet on it. Shelvey looks like a decent prospect and at least he has some balls about him. Henderson is garbage and will be sold within the next 2 years. He took his goal yesterday but else did he contribute? the usual next to nothing

why because i dont blindly hope an average player will suddenly become a world beater? tell me then what outstanding attribute does Jordan Henderson have that make you say "he will become some player" the guy is just plain ordinary. He never stands out in a game, barely creates chances for others and hardly ever scores. The only thing he has going for him is a good engine but thats not gonna be enough to play centre midfield for Liverpool.

The lad played well yesterday after an abysmal showing at Wembley.  Fair play to Kenny for giving him another chance and for presumably having a word in his ear about upping the tempo, putting himself about and getting forward more.  Whether this kid ever comes good depends less on natural ability, which he has, and more on heart.  Does he have the right mentality to excel at a big club like Liverpool where the weight of expectation is always high and where there can be no passengers?

Him and Shelvey dominated the centre of the park yesterday against multi million pound established internationals - the both stood out against their opponents.

It was clear to see
