Well we are a bit short of goalkeepers at the moment.  :D

You're right though, he worked hard for the team last night.

Thought the lad really put in a shift and helped the defence out brilliantly .

Shame he had to go to right back as he followed up a decent performance against Villa but starting the game well. He looks so much more confident when he plays in the centre. Would like to see him stay there for the rest of the season so he can try and prove he has what it takes to partner Lucus next season. But it does make you wonder why Kenny has played him on the right for most of the season when we have struggled in central midfield.

I think he will become a very good midfielder in time ,the signs are there to see ....its took most of the season, but the lads quality is slowly seeping through .

he was very good there indeed.
how he cant put in a similar shift 50yds further up the line ill never know.its not his preferred position but he is the best option for the wing over kuyt.
i wouldnt be surprised if we dont sign a natural winger in the summer as id say kenny believes he can perform there.
big confidence boost for him last night and i hope he can keep that momentum and gain more consistency over the run in.

gerrard is easily the best option on the right. you saw that with the goal he created against villa. he's the best crosser of the ball we have.

Yet his corners are lousy.  :glare:

That said he did have his best ever season for us on the right.

i dont disagree.
only problem is he isnt being played there and its either kuytie or hendo that kenny prefers and out of the two hendo is a better option imo.
that performance last night shows he can play right and put in a decent shift.it shows he is adaptable and thats a good quality for a player to have.
stevie didnt even make the squad last night and hendo still got overlooked for the centre so its becoming pretty clear over the course of the season that kenny doesnt see him as that.he obviously favours him for the right and thats imo were he will be used next season.

Shelvey has to retain his place ,thought his energy in midfield gave us more options than we have had at our disposal for a while .

absolutely RBG :nod
atm he is the best thing to creativity we have and his confidence and influence is growing with each game he gets.
this lad can be a real big player for us in the next few seasons

I think if he gets the game time Red he will really cement his place in our midfield ,and make himself irreplaceable .
Sadly it may be to the detriment of Gerrard .

Hendo is very technically gifted.  Just watched the 188Bet thing on the site, and he enters into a lot of these competitions, and seems to win them all.  He's got a great touch, and is really good at juggling.  He's really accurate with his movement of the ball as well.  It's clear he's not good enough right now to start or Liverpool, but he's so young and really just lacks the experience and confidence to be a great player.  In a few years he really could be something special.  When you are as naturally talented like he is, I really do believe (as many others) that he will come good.

I've got no worries at all about Henderson.  I've seen enough of him to see he'll be a quality player, he's shown it in flashes.  He just needs to add consistency and that will probably come with experience and a long run in his best position, which is probably central midfield.  He will benefit massively from getting his first season at a big club out of the way with so much first team exposure.  You can't write a kid like that off after one season, it's ridiculous.

Whether Kenny is here to enjoy it in the next couple of seasons or not, I think we'll look back on his sticking by Henderson and be grateful. I suspect it'll be another Lucas all over again - a young player who is played by a manager who believes in him, when the rest of the world doesn't, only to finally be proven right.

Though, I still think he has been played too often and especially too often on the right.

Much easier to be a fan than a manager... :)
