He has great vision, great technique, great passing ability, crossing ability and when he's on form he's a handful in central midfield. Also for Sunderland he was always in and around the opposition box where he scored several goals from such advanced positions. I feel for the lad, he's still learning his trade and in comes Liverpool with a £16m bid, places a huge weight of expectation on his shoulders and then throws him out on the wing, is anyone surprised he's struggling.
Henderson is supposed to be a player for the future and yet because of his mammoth price tag, he is expected to start a majority of our games to justify such a crazy price and putting the lad on the right wing which is not his forte is just ridiculous. It's the same with Andy Carroll, you don't pay these sorts of money for good players with potential in the future to become great players, you pay these kinds of fees for proven quality, proven talent over a number of years playing at the highest levels. I've got a feeling Henderson like Carroll will become a good player for us, but that probably won't be for a couple of years. That's not their fault, that's our fault. We signed these players and immediately expected them to bed in and produce excellent displays of football that would get us Champions League football.
That's not to say that Henderson has performed adequately on a consistent basis this season, I feel he's been very poor and it's understandable why supporters are getting on his back and he must do more in matches to really justify his continued selection, but hopefully in the summer Dalglish signs a right winger and brings Jordan into the center. As he's just wasted on the right and also very ineffective.

I thought the lad played well against Villa but there you go. What caught my eye though was Kenny just standing on the touchline staring at the game. Rafa was all arms and legs directing the orchestra, Kenny just watches. Then Steve Clark came up behind him looking like he was at a funeral and whispered in his ear. Again, no animation, no energy.
Either those 2 are sad b'stards or they've got a funny way of gee'ing up the players.
We all knew Rafa's foibles, he's the one who spoke his mind, played with his heart on his shoulder, sat on the deck and laughed and shouted. You knew where you were with Wafa, but Kenny... he's a dry one.
