Oh I still think he should go irrespective of how much I was pumping the air when Andy got that late winner, the league season has been a complete disaster and Maxi's goals highlighted another flaw in kenny, i.e why the hell hasn't he been playing more games when he is our most natural goal scorer at the moment?

Bellamy and Maxi make things happen, they create little openings, Henderson is a center midfielder and Downing is good at charging forwards, but has little to no end product. I still cannot fathom why we brought Downing, the disparity in class between him and Young is plain to see and yet we went for the more expensive option, who might have been performing better at Villa, but whom has offered virtually nothing league-wise here this season, this is in stark contrast to his former team-mate.

another problem is though andy carroll doesnt really suit playing around players like maxi, bellamy and suarez

he needs the old fashioned wingers, like newcastle when they had shearer and ferdinand........they had ginola and keith gillespie beating a man and putting crosses in the box like a catholic moving house!!

I like many others cannot understand why Maxi isn't getting more games.  I think I heard someone say he has 11 goals in his last 10 PL starts.  And considering our lack of goals this season it seems like a no brainer that he should play more.

Our success at the end of last season came mainly because of the Maxi, Suarez, Kuyt, Mereiles link up.
Yet we sold Mereiles (perhaps he wanted to leave), stopped playing Maxi and Kuyt.

I think one of our biggest downfalls this season has been the fact that we signed players to build a team around Carroll.  We should have signed quality players to add to what we already had.

Did you notice what happened to Maxi after the second goal and we went down to ten men - he disappeared. Its great he got two goals but he isnt a striker who can wait for chances - he plays in midfield and needs to work hard all game long and be involved.

That's a fair point, he does disappear. However, he also carries a genuine goal threat.
For me he has been underused badly, if not a regular starter it doesn't explain why Kenny hasn't even had him on the bench most of the time.

Maybe it's the fact he isn't a wide player, nor a central midfielder, perhaps suited best playing off a front man.
He does have that knack of being in the right place though, and with a shortage of goals this season surely should have been used more.

But as a sub i cant see him being an impact sub - its a very hard call on him because like you say he does pop up with goals.

It is unfortunately true about Maxi going missing from games at times or else not shown up at all sometimes. But he does have a knack for scoring goals and getting into the box.

Id say he has scored more goals or as many as Suarez or Carroll have in the last 15 months.  And it is goals have we've been lacking this year.

I thought our neatest and most precise  passages of play involved Maxi last night he looks so comfortable on the ball. We definitely look a more
composed team when he plays .

No.

Sure he has good games, and like last night when he is good he is extremely effective. However it is a lottery which Maxi will turn up.

In terms of the league he is worth the risk because your league success is not dictated by one game. For cup games he is a risk in my opinion, how much I can't say. I could start him or bench him - I have no preference either way. I just wish he would make it easier by being more consistent.

I think he is an inventive player ,who always brings out our most intricate movement ...I thought he looked really good with Shelvey last night .

Enjoy the win by all means but Maxi? Hes been p*ss poor overall and its one game.

This is exactly what we do, a win and everything is perfect again and our players
suddenly terrific.

Take the victory (against a bottom 3 team) as an end to a near record losing streak and
leave it at that, no point in getting carried away.

Now to the semi final of the FA Cup.

Who is this world class respected manager we will get if Kenny goes ?

I remember the lengthy discussions that happened when people were asking for Rafa to go.

The question was who would replace him and the answers were generally

Hiddink, Maureen, Rijkaard etc and who did we end up with ? Yes Roy Hodgson a manager who had won nothing. Yet people were still adamant we could attract one of these highly sought after managers. We couldn't and guess what - we still can't now.

You are talking nonsense, the reason why Hodgson was appointed back then was because no decent manager would have touched us.

The club was in civil war with the owners, they had already come out and said they had little money to spend and we had no Champions League.

So you can crow all day about people wanting your Hiddinks, Mourinhos but the reality was that we were never going to get anyone good enough to replace Benitez under that current state.

At the moment our club is in a much more stable position upstairs (although we have no CL to offer) and I would think we have a much better chanceof bringing in a decent manager at the end of the season.

That is if Kenny and club part ways. If Kenny stays so be it, but the I think if he doesn't learn from his mistakes we are doomed to mid-table oblivion for a number of seasons to come.

And I don't buy into this whole its Kenny or no one else nonsense. Are you guys really saying that there is no other manager out there who can do a better job then Kenny?!? Talk about one f**kin eyed cyclops supporters!  :no
