it`s not 1977 any more, it`s harder to replace your top players when you are not competing for the top prizes, if dalglish was playing these days and became available he`d be off to city or united not us.
torres came to liverpool after he saw us appear in 2 CL finals in the previous 3 seasons. at the moment we cant afford to lose our best players and suarez is our best player, if start challenging for the title and get back in the CL again and start getting to the latter stages of the competition then maybe we can start offloading good players if they are not happy for a particular reason, but at the moment we cant afford to do it.
The principle still applies, this club will still survive whether or not Luis Suarez is here or not. Losing Suarez is not all doom and gloom, this club is more than capable of attracting talented players.
No one wants to lose their best players, but my argument is that if a player wants to leave then by all means let him leave. Luis Suarez is the be and end all of our club and I disagree with the sentiment that he is our best player at the club, I'd say our best player this season has been Craig Bellamy, but I suppose this is subjective, someone might think Kuyt has been our best performer or Martin Skrtel.
If Suarez wants to stay then that's fantastic, if he doesn't then that's too bad, just cut our losses and sell him to the highest bidder.
