Most of the "Kenny out" brigade will be under 40, probably under 30 I would guess. This is because we are in a more impatient age where success, fame and fortune are not things which are earned over years, but can be achieved almost instantly. The Lottery, Big Brother, the X Factor, all things which cant turn people into celebrities virtually overnight. We have instant news on the internet and everyone is clambering to get the "exclusive" story first. This leads to an attitude which has seeped into football through the likes of Abramovich, and we have seen this in other clubs where managers are given a season, or even less to "make things happen". Does it work? Have chelsea won the title or the CL since Mourinho walked?
My point is theres no guarantee of success if you keep changing managers

i'm in my 30s and remember Kenny's first stint in charge and, if i'm completely honest, i would have accepted 5th as a season finishing point.  But it's not a case of being patient, it's about seeing improvement on and off the pitch.  Kenny will have been here a year and a half in the summer, and we're further behind the top 4 than when he started

1. he hasnt been in the job for a year and a half
2. all managers are like that, every fan thinks their manager hasnt got a clue about substitutions
3. do you know this for a fact? how long had he been in charge when torres left and suarez and carroll arrived? was he solely incharge of the money even though he was an interim manager at the time? could he buy anyone he wanted to or was there a transfer philosophy at the club coming from up above?

I know for a fact that Kenny authorised the transfers. He has sole control in deciding who stays and who goes.

The point I was making was that Abramovich is a loon that changes the manager (even one that won the PL) on a whim. I for one dont want to go down that route. Sorry if I confused you

comoli finds the players, but it's Kenny who agrees to the transfers. Bascially, he'll be given a list of players' we've been watching and decide who, if anyone, we sign.

However, for this to work, you need a single direction in regards to style of play and tactical approach. We have neither and that's why we've ended up with a mis-mash of players who don't work

So are you saying that the fault lies in the owner's philosophy and comoli's ineptitude? I'm sure Kenny has a say in the transfers probably even to the extent of endorsing the transfer targets before the owners approve them. It is hard to believe that the owners insists on young British players who comes with a price premium and force it down on Kenny...

Yes abramovich is a loon and so is some of his players, but sacking a manager does not mean we become abramovich over night.

I feel sorry for whoever is the next chelsea manager.

Like it or not the club went for a quick win in the league this year and have failed.

They wanted back in that top 4 this season and thats why they threw the money at what they saw as proven premiership players to hit the ground running.

I could accept a mediocre league campaign if we had opted for a longer term plan and where blooding top young players but that is not what we chose to do.

We are now in the position of either chucking more money at it or stepping back a year and going the longer term youth route.

I am not 100% behind firing anyone at this point but performance of the manager has to be monitored and measured constantly and its not simply a case of sitting back until a contract ends.

Dalglish has fundementally failed with his strategy and recruitment for our top 4 target and he must show signs of improving this in the short and fix his mistakes in the longer term.

Agree with a lot of what you say. I wouldn't be jumping for joy if the owners sacked Kenny either, but we need a vision...a plan, something to work towards because we have none of that at the moment.

I firmly believe there are currently a lot of things pertaining to this great club 'that aren't good enough ' the main one being the current crop of fans .
