The thing is Lucas was a liabilty at times with his bad tacklinbg and giving free kicks away in dangerous areas. Henderson does....nothing. He looks like hes always just about to burst into tears. Which is why it would be good for someone else to come in and slot in now. Then Kenny can blood Henderson in over time whilst building up his confidence. I think if we carry on with him now 1 of 2 things will happen

1) We will scrape by but people will keep pointing to his lack of contribution
2) We will end up selling him in a year for him to probably go onto a smaller team where he will flourish

Also if the likes of Downing, Adam and Carroll were producing more I think there wouldn't be so much focus on him. The team is generally struggling for goals this season but Henderson isn't the only 1 under performing. If anything I would be more critical of players like Downing who actually had a good game yesterday but generally has been gash.

When people make comments like Thommo's and Penguins I just know that you guys made up your minds from the get go that he wasn't worth what we paid for him and was going to do nothing all season and nothing he actually did would change that for you unless he was scoring goals left and right where it would be bloody obvious what his contributions to the team were. Do you really watch the lad play? The only negative thing I can say about him is that he's not always consistent but that is to be expected. He has put in countless number of quality through balls that have sent people into acres of space or one on ones with the goalie/last defender where they have repeatedly failed to convert. Not only that but he's sent a number of crosses in as well that were on a platter for people but for one reason or another weren't converted either. His first touch is exceptional he has an eye for a pass can put in quality balls into the box and works his :censored:

off every single match.

I havent mentioned money. I have always said I dont give a sh'it what players cost (see Carroll). It has no bearing on my opinion. In fact I didnt know he cost £16 million until someone pointed it out.
I believe that Henderson feels out of his depth and is being too hard on himself, which in turn affects his performances. I wish he would man up and grow a pair to have a positive impact on the game. Little touches and flicks are fine if you want to stay in the background. I know he is only young but yes, I have watched him and I believe he could do much better.

I dunno mate, these conversations usually end in me failing to convince you that he's done some really good stuff for us this year so I'd rather not give it a go. Here's a link to a comp against City, he's been doing those through balls, one touch passes and crosses all year long off and on. It's happening more often now that he's being played centrally though.

good vid that Zidane, I really like Henderson. His first touch is brilliant and he nor,ally finds a decent pass. He is very young and looks to be improving all the time. One for the future, but can do a good job for us now!

Good signing and for those who think 16 mill was too much just think how expensive British players are going to be when Uefa change the rules about home grown players.

For all those who think I'm just negative brace yourselves, I really like Henderson as a player, he is far from the finished article yet but like Lucas I think he will become a fantastic player for us.
