Can someone who rates this guy tell me exactly what he does that warrants his price, ive been seriously studying him in every game and the guy dosnt seem to have any particular talent to me, hes very average at everything,  can someone honestly say otherwise?

No I can't.

I cannot explain why we bought him, what he gives us or why Kenny continues to play him.

I don't see any real progress with him and it does annoy me that we paid so much money out when clearly we need a more creative midfield type of player.

What angers me the most is that we allowed players like Aquilani and Mereirles to leave so he could be here? ???? it makes no sense to me what so ever

Even if it is hard to admit only Enrique and Suarez have not been a fiasco of kenny´s signings.
Spending all the money on the dross we have and sitting where we are in the table is not acceptable.
Kenny has been backed in the market, just made poor buys.

I agree but they didn't by all accounts want to play here, however that does not excuse the lack of creative flair in our midfield.

Well, I'm one of the few (or maybe only) who rate Henderson. I agree that at the moment he doesn't offer much to the team, but I believe that the kid has an enormous potential and he can't show it to us due to only 2 flaws.

The first of the two flaws that I see in him is that he is still young and inexperienced, which isn't really a strong argument cos we've seen kids his age or even younger that are world-class, but the second flaw that has a great influence on his performance is the lack of confidence. From what I've seen I think that the guy has a good control on the ball, that he has a good eye for a pass and a good right foot to make it, the only thing is that he's afraid to make it, so he just keeps it simple. Because of that we often see that he disappears in the game, which leads us to believe that he isn't good enough. Also, when ever I see him make a good run (which is very rarely) he always makes a rush decision. When I see him do that I feel that it isn't because of his inability to make and do the right decision but because he's not confident enough to believe that he'll actually make the right decision which results in making a mistake. His inexperience is also a great factor in this. As an example I'd like to give a situation (don't remember the game) when him and Suarez were making a one-two pass. Hendo starts by passing to Suarez, makes a run, Suarez gives the ball back to him and instead of continuing forward by himself, Hendo passes back to Suarez, who didn't expect it back and loses the ball. He did everything well and made a stupid mistake at the end and I can only explain that by saying that he's inexperienced and has very little confidence.

Confidence isn't something that you can not gain if you don't have it. With a bit of training and a bit more game time, I believe that this kid will get his confidence and when he does I am certain that he will justify my believe in his talent.

I don't agree on the price we've payed for him though. IMO he clearly has potential, but for those money it's a big gamble to rely on your (Comolli's and Kenny's in this case) opinion about someone's apparent potential, because no matter how good you are at the job you can very easily be wrong. Sorry for the big post :).

I think Henderson has ability but his issue is self belief. Always goes for the safe ball. He needs telling to look and play forward and to express himself on the field. All in all we need more swagger on the park and Hendo is a case in point.

They were practically pushed out by the club to make way for the "british revolution".

Henderson is at least still a very young player that might improve with time. Its harder to defend some of the others.

I can't understand what is his role to the team. He stays back for corners...... then decides to play striker 5 mins later, then goes to the right wing 3 mins after that.

Total football ?  ???

Awful positioning, inconsistent with touches, doesn't want the ball......

He was completly average yet again, when Gerrard came on, he like the rest of team improved but he's far to content to be a passenger which is unapceptable when playing in central midfield, however luckily for him he will probably start alongside Gerrard when he's fully fit as i cant see Gerrard and Adam starting in the same side together as there playing style is too similar.

He's gonna be boss in a couple of years.  He's grown as the season has progressed and is only going to get better.  He'll turn out to be a very good buy.  Good lad.
