Did your neutral friends tell you that?

Thought was alright last night. He's a work in progress but if we keep playing him he will get his confidence up which is what he is lacking IMO.

another flop. what's the point of buying "players for the future" when it is the starting 11 that needs to be addressed?

In fairness he did come up with a great near post flick-on to set up Rooneys first

Jesus I hate losing to that sh*te but its just so much worst when your team are totally outfought and outplayed for 88mins

Thought we played quite well in the first half. Got hit at the beginning of the second with a couple of sucker punches and were stunned for about 15 mins. Sorry but our captain did not do his job today. Remember when we were 3-0 down in '05 and the captain doing an incredible job. I'd give the armband to Agger.

I think it was Agger who flicked it on to Rooney

you know what would be great? if every player had the passion Bellamy and Kuyt displays. the energy, the never say die attitude, the willingness to run and harass the opponents.

No it was Henderson mate. I'll agree 100% about Gerrard today, never seen the lad give the ball away a many times in my life, except maybe away at Basel in 2002 :D

I dont think we played well in the first half though, we were very deep and attacking with little numbers and clearly playing for a draw - the thing we all had a go at Spurs for on Monday night.

Back on Henderson, everytime the lad plays on the flanks he is a peripheral figure in our offensive play. Look at the difference Valencia made of Utd today constantly attacking Enrique and causing problems, always positive and looking to make things happen. We dont have this type of wide player.

that's because we never buy such players. players like Patricio Rodriguez are so full of creativity, speed and skills but we've never had a player like that on the wings since McManaman.

We were looking at the Universidad de Chile winger Edwardo Vargas for ages but then he went to Napoli qithout us even making a bid. Shiquiri from Basel just signed an agreement for Bayern who again we get linked with but it never materializes.

no way is this lad good enough to be starting for us at the minute.
these young lads have too big of egos to think because they signed for a big club for a big fee that they are sorted.
drop him to the reserves and give someone else a shot in his place to see what they can offer and id be willing to bet they couldnt be any worse than what henderson has been giving us.

Just what the fk does he do! I've said in the past that he has got potential but I'm really not that convinced. He looked lost against United. He is just very average and we paid crazy money for him.Just hope he proves me wrong but just how long are we going to have to wait for the majority of our high priced summer signings to prove themselves.Henderson and Downing are largely responsible for providing just about the worst possible service a forward could ask for. Just how many killer balls have the two of them provided in a combined total of nearly 50 games? If it's more than three I'd be amazed.Fed up to my back teeth with the two of them! Feel sorry for Andy Carroll. Those two would make Aguero look rubbish!

I thought he was our worst player on the pitch against Brighton and I can't believe some of his comparisons with Steven Gerrard in some of the LFC forums. Gerrard at Henderson's age was faster, defensively better, stronger and more intelligent.

I have my doubts on Henderson capable becoming a top player in the future, He might turn out to be a decent midfielder.

Quite like Hendo but He doesn't seem to have much bottle.  Id say Shelvey is a bit closer to Gerrard than Hendo is

steven gerrard is the best player i`ve ever seen play for the club so your not asking much from the lad!!
henderson is a good player, people talk about kuyt but no one in our team puts a shift in like henderson, he`s one of the few players who gets into the box (actually in to the box not hang around outside it) to support our front men.
again like carroll he is a young player (hendo`s only 21 dont forget) who arrived with a big price tag around his neck which add`s a lot of pressure at a stage in his career when most players of his age are doing well just to be in any starting XI never mind liverpools.
he`s neat and tidy in possession, got an incredible engine on him, is quite quick and has shown once or twice this season that he can open up defences with a pass. on top of all that he has got a sensible head on his shoulders, in interviews he speaks like a 30 year old captain not a 21 year old lad.
i`m sure as he feels more comfortable in his enviroment he`ll start to express himself more on the pitch.
to expect miracles out of a 21 year old player is not being realistic.

Maybe when he gets more experience and mature he will definitely be a good player, I hope he improves like Lucas, but for me Henderson shouldn't be in the starting eleven right now, ease him into the starting eleven. He always did well when he came on as an impact sub.

Anyways, good post yckatbjywtbiastkamb, time will tell
