I agree with ya LFC on EPL being the top league in the world at the moment. Years ago the Premiership was not all that strong, it was the Bundesliga and the Seria A who were the dominators in Europe but over the past few years things have changed. The Premiership has shown a different side of English football that has attracted players from all over the world and thats one of the things that I like about it.

The Bundesliga has weakened and so has Seria A. They play a more defencive type of football which I find quite boring. The atmosphere in English football is much different and the major rivalries between clubs make it stand out. Players are noticing that and going to English clubs where they can accomplish something great in their football career.

hmm, Spain, Italy and England are all very good leagues, and I think it depends where you are from and the type of football you like too whcih you think is the best.

I love the premiersship and prefer it, but I laso enjoy watching the Spanish league and teams like Milan (best team in the world IMO) and Juve in Serie A.

same here A.B. I have watched quite a lot of Spanish football and must say it's fantastic, Italy is OK but I prefer the premiership over both of 'em.

I think in a couple of years the Japanese might have a good league. I've seen a few games from their "J-League" and they have some talented players.

I've seen Italian,Spanish,Dutch,German,French football and currently English football is number one in my book.

unfortunatley English teams haven't performed in Europe over recent years though and have been shown up by teams like Milan, Juve and Real Madrid.

Yes its been quite disapointing for the English clubs and the fans. This year I believe it will come down to Inter Milan,AC Milan,Juve and Barcelona.

I do not see Arsenal as a challenge. They are a force in the Premiership but in Europe its a different story. Chelsea might have a chance.

yeh i don't quite understnad Arsenal. In the premiership they are brilliant and occasionly they can put those sort of performances into Europe (5-1 at the San Siro against Inter last season), but other days they are ordianry (3-0 at Highbury gainst Inter last season).
Arsenal play more cautiously in Europe for some reason, maybe they res[ect their opponents too mcuh, and this is ultimately thier downfall.

I think you hit the nail on the head. In the Premiership many teams respect Arsenal too much and that leads to their downfall. In Europe european teams do not respect Arsenal as much as teams in the Premiership and they can get passed them.

The Premiership is not the best league in Europe. Only three clubs have won the title in the past 10 years (Man UTD, Arsenal and Blackburn) therefore making it the most uncompetitive league of the big three, although Spain is similarily uncompetive at the very top with Real and Barcelona winning most of the titles in the past 20 years. However, other Spanish clubs have performed excellently in Europe over the past 5 years or so, so I'd make it the best around at the moment.

The Italian league is in the doldrums, yet in 2003 2 Italian sides reached the CL final.

the Italian league is is big financial trouble, and only the big 3 Juve, Inter and Milan can compete anymore.
