We can argue that the finishin problem is down to the players we bought, the tactics we're usin and the way we're playin til we're blue in the face but you cant argue we've improved as a team to watch. No-one said it'd be instant success, no-one even put a measure on it, that was more our expectation levels than the club itself, but i honestly believe we're headed the right way even if its not as quick as this era demands. We sit just a few points off a CL spot, in a Cup semi and waitin on the 4th round draw for the FA Cup - from finishin 7th under Rafa and hittin the lows of the Hodgson period thats not a bad return inside such a short time and with half the season to go. Hopefully the confidence goals can bring will assist those that needed it after Fridays win, help those individuals move on and aim higher and we can start seein a return on such massive investment. We're gettin better than we've been as a club for some time now, save for the crucial goal-scorin an if that comes good we're gonna fly.

Happy Anniversary Kenny Dalglish YNWA

looking at another liverpool forum today and someone has asked if our trust in Kenny is wrong.

Luis Suárez  29 games   9 goals   22mil

Stewart Downing 20 games   0 goals   18mil

Andy Carroll       25 games    4 goals     35mil

74 games     13 goals          75 mil

i know he got some of the stats wrong as there have been a few more game now and goals.

does my head in how we sit back after taking the lead. city are there for the taking even though they can't be as bad in the second half.

when you sit back it makes carroll look even worse at times because he's totally isolated.

that today was the worst bit of management since Hodgson.

We have struggled to score at home all season, so what do you do? Play 5 in defence and have Kuyt upfront alone.

I very rarely check for stats but did today. After 38 minutes we had 2 shots.

I haven't been critical of Kenny on the field, only his poor british signings, but that today was shocking. I was reading Rawk when the team was announced and pretty every single poster was dumbfounded by the line up.

No it wasn't, we set up the SAME formation last season at home against Stoke and we beat them 2-0, but this time we didn't, why? because we DO NOT have enough quality players upfront to create chances and score goals! Kuyt, Carroll and Downing are just not good enough.

The tactics and system were fine, the players obviously aren't. We don't have enough quality and without Suarez in the side we don't create enough chances. When Suarez started we created a shed load of chances but our finishing was poor, now playing without him we aren't creating enough chances, its as simple as that.

My only contention would be that gerrard was playing too deep.  I'd have rather have him play off Kuyt with Downing, hendo and Adam behind him.  Aside from that, I agree with you.  Nothing wrong with playing 5 at the back, it's just the midfield didn't carry their weight.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

You dont play with a spare man in defence against a side who barely cross the halfway line who come to snatch a point.

It was a shocking line up, and the inevitability of the final scoreline is the worst part. Yes his British signings are poor, and Kuyt is not a threat, but if the personnel in attack is weak, having less attackers on the field only compounds this weakness.

We had 2 shots after 38 minutes of play. 2 shots, at home, to Stoke.

Seven draws at home, 5 of which were to Stoke, Swansea, Norwich, Sunderland, Blackburn.

There is no defending the indefensible. The negative tactics, and poor signings, we have 4 wins at home and its almost February.

You don't get it though. We played the SAME formation last season and we managed to beat them 2-0. Theo nly problem this time around we don't have the quality to break down a side like Stoke

dear oh dear, what an awful performance and bad set up. 5 men in defence against a team who play 10 men behind the ball at all times....why?

I'm sorry guys, but for me Kenny isn't the man to lead us forward. He's transformed us into Newcastle of 1998....poor ideas, average players and no ambition.

Kenny's out of touch with the modern game and lacks the dynanism that modern football has developed. Today's managers think nothing of changing their approach, formation 2 or 3 times per half to outwit the opposition. Kenny's the complete opposite and Stoke must have p!ssed themselves laughing when they saw our team sheet.

But it's not just the set up and tactics...it's Kenny's signings too, which are the WORST in the history of our great club. Downing, Adam, Carroll, Henderson...they're all garbage and they cost us the best part of 100 million. It's a f**king joke.

I'll get panned for saying this, but i hope the board are now searching for someone new, young and capable to take over in the summer and move Kenny back upstairs. Otherwise, he'll get sacked and will be forced to leave Liverpool under a cloud, never to return.

You did your best Kenny, but a top 4 Premier League manager you are not...

It felt like the same everything to me mate, instead of Kyriagkos we had Coates, we also had Meireles who is a better player than Adam.
