Shouldnt start every game but he has potential to be a good player.

Potential is their..But his disappearence act is much worse then "hasn't done too much wrong" . Running away from the game in my book is much worse then a player trying but failing. At least try.

Ya I agree.  I think he has done things wrong, but that's expected from a kid at one of the biggest clubs in the world.  I'm happy we signed him because I know within the next couple years we will have a really good player at our club from it.  The fact he can do what he can do at his age is great.  SUre he shy's away a lot, but he's nervous... He's a kid.

Shouldn't start other than on occasion, but he should come off our bench in the games we've killed off.  At that point we usually are playing well and the other team somewhat gives up.  Easy for him to really gain some confidence and experience in those fixtures.  That's all he needs to fulfill the potential he has.

Lucas - Henderson will come good.

I'd like to believe this, coming from a player with experience and all :D.

Anyway, we shouldn't be too hard on the kid. He's not good enough to be a starter but has a lot of potential and I agree with Lucas, sooner or later he will come good. I even fancy him more than Adam to be honest. But as I said, not good enough to start in every game. We have a big squad with quality (imagine that) and there are players that deserve to play ahead of him in most games.

Henderson has been compared with Phil Jones in that they are both young and cost a fair few quid. I think the press have gushed a bit about Jones and he was found out a bit tonight against quality opposition so lets not be too quick to judge the lad on account of a transfer fee which he has no say in and a few games playing for a much bigger club than Sunderland.

P.S. however............it must be bad when fans are clamoring for Kuyt - It wasn't that long ago since he was public enemy number 1 ! :D

Its not a case of the situation being bad, its more a case of having very fickle fans.

Ive had a rough day looking after the little un. Hes 2 and has way too much energy. Fortunately I have a 15 year old son. He doesnt help look after him, hes my go to guy when it comes to blaming why my 2 year old has smashed the house up !

I cant understand why we bought Henderson in the first place, he wasnt needed at the time as we were heavily stacked in central midfield. Reminds me of the signings of Bentley & Bent when Commoli was at Spurs, just buying young english "talent" for the sake of it. Were stuck with him now, but he offers the side nothing at the moment, because of his price tag we have to give him a chance, but not starting every week! give him some minutes of the bench when the game is won and introduce him slowly so that the lad can gain some confidence.

The boy can play...... give him time in the middle and he'll come good.
One for the future? Possibly.

With Gerard, Lucas and Adam in the middle, he'll be the 4th choice for now but don't write of the lad yet.
Potential is there.

It would have done him a world of good to have scored today..... give him time.... he'll come good imo.

I thought Lucas was awful today tbh and Henderson should have started in place of him.

Yes with hindsight you'd have picked Hendo first but you didin't know Lucas was gonna have a bit of a stinker now did you?  :)

We must have watched different games mate..... with Lucas on, we were much more stable and under less pressure I thought.
