Mind the door on your way out mate. Absolute pants (good one day maybe). Just a Hodgson appeasement for letting LFC (under the clowns) let Hodgson anywhere near our side.

But, if we go by your take on the player, were you were not impressed at all when we signed him, how on earth can this be a signing to smooth things over because Rafa left?

According to you, he was a gamble. If you felt that way, then surely quite a few others felt the same.

Or we could take into account that you, and all other Roy haters were simply willing every signing made by him to be total flops as the Rafa love in "because he gets us", has well and truly taken hold.

No. Joe Cole wasnt signed to smooth things over because Rafa left. He was signed by Roy Hodgson, and therefore, because he was, fickle minded supporters who put their hatred of Roy Hodgson before the support of the club had already made up their mind to not give the lad a chance.

All we have to wait on now is Meireles leaving and harmony is restored.

Quality player on form, unfortunately he is a shadow of his former self and never worked out with us  :(

However, his attitude has been spot on the day he joined and never complained, even got himself early this summer to get back to fitness, it shows you his great character

I wish him all the very best in the future

He may have done that to try and gratify his ridiculous wages!! He had a laugh at our expense! Just waiting, now he's well past his best, for the next roll of dough he can live on. We live in an absurd state of finances where football is concerned. I don't think it will change. Just the fact that dudes will relinquish their hard-earned(!) money in their future more reluctantly (unless your strip is blue!)

Go and read the first ten pages or so of the thread - no I wasn't impressed by the signing one single bit because of purely footballing reasons - I mentioned on the board my fears and got rounded on .

Hodgson had feck all to do with the season IMO and the owners signed him in an attempt to get some good feeling back into the club and gullible people fell for it

Cole earnt over 5 million in wages from us plus his 3 mil plus signing on fee and contributed nothing - it's a disgrace .

it's small change in comparison to the 10s of millions wasted on Aquilani.

I feel bad for the lad. There is no doubt that he was a very talented player who throughout his career has been hampered by injuries. Best wishes Joe.

Who mentioned anything about Aquilani ?

Just because it didnt work out for him doesnt detract anything away from how poor the Cole transfer was for us .

in the long list of 'disgraceful' transfers, cole is not up there with the worst. I mention Aquilani because, in my mind, it's the worst piece of business this club has ever conducted...followed shortly after by Robbie Keane. Cole's signing wasn't that bad.
