I don't mind having him. Should never be played without fast cover though. Seems to have the right attitude and things like that will rub off on to the youngsters.

Its an automatic 1 year extension after completing certain amount of appearances.

Welcome extension for me. I am not his # 1 fan but it has to be said that he did a job for us last season when asked to step in. Think his playing time will be very restricted next term but he is decent cover if you ask me.

Apart from west brom away when he was a show.

I think he will probably still end up going tbh.
Unless Skrtel goes and we bring someone new in to go straight into the side with the greek last choice.

Regardless of whether he stays or goes, we got him on the cheap when we were broke and he exceeded expectations and always gives 100%.

Still hope we sell him and get in someone younger and better (If this contract extension was automatic). Was a good sign at the time, good enough for the bench but I think it's time he goes.

We should of got him 5 years ago would of been immense in Athens. I love his attitude

Soto is a decent signing. Experienced player,excellent in the Air ,constant threat on set pieces ,yep a bit slow but over all solid defender.

I'm much more worried with Skertel and Carra which one is a total brainless thug and the other is an hysterical long baller...And Agger..oh well i guess at least the Pyhisios and Medics would like him to stay

You need a certain number of players like the big Greek in any squad in the wings ready to do a steady job for you.

been saying this for ages. he's a greater goal threat as well. glad that he is staying put.

I think that Skrtel is the better defender, certainly the form defender of the two of them. If we had a real top class CB alongside Soto, then for the sake of his aerial ability I'd be tempted to play him over Skrtel. BUT with our current defenders, Skrtel is a less error prone defender, the more likely to contribute to a clean sheet, so he gets the nod over the Greek for me. I love Soto's passion, aggression and goal scoring threat, he is just too much of a defensive liability to play without the support and covering of a real top class partner in a back four.
