He misses liverpool:
"Obviously I miss home, Liverpool and my house in Wales, but I'm sure I will get used to things in Spain in due course,"
"It was nice to be home and in an English atmosphere with the weather and things like that, I'm not used to the sunshine at the moment.
"And I have actually been able to train in the rain, which is something that doesn't happen much in Spain."

why shouldnt he claim the goal?
no.1 it hit him last
no.2 it caused the ball to change direction, going into the corner of the goal
no.3 the goalie ahd the original path of the ball covered

hes a striker, the ball struck him and went in the goal, its his goal

i was still cheering him on last night, made some money out of the game too, id welcome him back

owen is still top class. he produces when it matters most. in the last two games, defoe has looked distinctly average. more work of the southern press building up a player to be better than he is, just like lampard.

oh please, i suppose because Defoes from london you think that the southern press rate him as a better player, thats simply not true. ALL the papers have been saying that defoe deserved a chance and his form merited this, i bet before the England games you were saying defoe deserved a chance and what a great player he was

i agree that defoe deserved a achance, and after the last 2 games he hasnt shown anything differemt. owen and rooney are much better than him and if we are gonna play with 3 people up front front then id ratehr see owen, ronney, plus smeone who has got soemthing a little bit different.

defoe is a very good player but anyone who thinks he's in owen's league is seriously deluded.

Defoe isnt as good as owen at the moment but im pretty sure he will be soon an to be honsest he could get better than owen in a few years, the diffrence is defoe is sill improving owen is doing the complete opposite

i didnt say that, i think defoe was poor in his recent england outings but im just stating the point about his abilty. I honestly think defoe could improve to be a superior striker to michael owen, whos carrer has been at a stand still for 2 years.

Defoe deserved his England chance from his club form, granted he didnt perform that well but other England players havnt performed well in the past and kept there places

i dont think owen has been great in the latest internationals either!
Defoe is a great talent and deserves his chance why are we knocking someone with talent?
Is it because he is from the south and owen is a Kop Great?

Defoe, I wouldn't have known he played the last two internationals had it not been for seeing him run off when he was subbed.

He is overated, Owen delivers time and time again.

Now Juventus are reported being keen to take Owen following news that David Trezeguet will be out for four months after surgery on a shoulder injury.
