Exactly!

In previous seasons he deserved all the criticism he got. This season only those deluded ones with a grudge criticise him.

Yesterday he was outstanding, Suarez was the only player who deserved the MOM more than Lucas (oh yeah and the Dutch bloke who scored).

Passing breakdown Vs MUFC:
Forward: 71%
Backwards: 7%
Left Pass: 4%
Right Pass: 18%

Thought was really good today, don't know what more people want, I thought he carried Gerrard today a bit and helped him out countless times.

guardian chalkboards

the above would suggest lucas won one of the 10 tackles he engaged in, gave away a couple of nail biting edge of the box free kicks but I guess thats "really good" and some posters "dont know what more people want"

No coincidence that Lucas has a good game and so do Liverpool. was going back to his old ways the last 3 games and i was worried he was gonna ruin all hes done over the last 18 month in teh feckle mind of the modern football supporter,, but glad he gave a better performance yesterday.
Just gonna add that hes not world class before the usually suspects put words into the mouths of the Lucas supporters

I find it quite amusing that Kenny picks him every time, he usually has a good game and yet there's a minority of fans who still have the audacity to question Kenny. If he thought that Lucas was lacking then surely he'd have signed another midfielder in the transfer window. Surely?

I was sober yesterday...
I think he was good because he wasnt as bad as he can be.
Fair play to him. He didnt stand out as our worst player which he has done in the past. If he had a run like that until the end of may where he didnt cost us the game, then I would consider he had turned a corner and may be considered for a place in the squad next season

he had bigger fish to fry, lets wait and see. Lucas is improving of that theres no doubt, but lets keep it in context and the chalkboards are merely an illustration of how some peoples conjecture is, well, just that.

Poster boy of our "averageness"

Off the top of my head, cannot think of a more passive player. Feel for Carra and the other defenders who now have to hoof the ball upfield as the midfield is now non existant..the team has no midfield pivot post Alonso so their is no link from defence to midfield.

From the immensely talented Alonso, to Lucas, that change sums up the direction we have headed. Nosedive. There is no control in midfield since May 2009, no dictator... and until we have replaced Alonso properly we will continue to suffer. Midfield is by far the most important area of a team (Barca have a pisspoor defence but its never tested as the Spanish twins in midfield dictate and control the ball)... we have nothing in there so the defence is left completely exposed, there is also no link from midfield to the attackers/wide areas... so, our general play is awful.
"Its not just any other club" C.Tyldsley
"Liverpool are a special institution" X.Alonso
"Anfield es un templo de fútbol" AS
"The English club prove miracles do exist" D.Maradona
"Theres not one club in the world so united with its fans. Liverpool fans sent shivers down my spine" J.Cruyff
