blurts and bashers obviously have their opinions on who is and isn't world class   ???

I personally don't think Lucas is world class..who is ?
I do think he plays an important part in a Liverpool team at this moment...whether it continues is upto Kenny Dalglish

I appreciate the contribution Lucas makes, obviously some people never will.......our past is riddled with players who had their fair share of "bashers and blurts" and I'm sure we will have players in the future who will receive such reverence...some things will never change  :D

i agree with you supersub for what its worth.
we had a world class dm in masch and a lot still see lucas as his replacement even though they are chalk and cheese imo.both were used in a similar role under previous managers and this season he has improved when not under the former's shadow and even more so when kk took over.
we always had poor players in the squad over the years but just not so many at the one time and i do think lucas bears the brunt of a lot of that even when its not deserved.
this season has been by far his best in a lfc shirt and he will be rewarded with a new contract but whether thats to retain him for the future or to keep his stock up only kk knows but i do think there is many who should be shown the door before him and he does deserve credit for the improvement and effort he has shown this year.
its just a shame he had 150 odd games before he has shown it.

I think its down to expectations
I always expect Lucas to be average or sh'ite and he rarely lets me down...
Though I must admit this season he hasnt been as sh'ite as he could have been

Lucky, lucky Lucas

though he has become a lot more composed in recent times I still think he's a liability. He always puts his foot in and takes the man and gives away needless fouls. When Wash stole that opportunity from Cole, Sparta went on the counter and got a free kick in a dangerous position. It was Lucas who gave it away with a rash challenge and there were a few times he was tripping opponents in the middle of the park. Though they aren't dangerous free kicks to give away, he surrenders possession to the oppo and puts us on the back foot.

I'm talking specifically about the game tonight btw - though in a general context the same applied :D
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

He did give away a few needless free-kicks but I felt when eggnog nicked the ball away from to Cole to score, and they broke, he did what most players in his position would do and that is to commit the foul to prevent any further danger. Even at the risk of a yellow (masch was the king of it).

Just shows his mentality
Give a free kick away in a dangerous position in the last minute of a game where they mustnt equalise

I can see the logic to your argument. I remember when Walcott went on that run, I was screaming for someone to bring the little t0sser down.

Though this was a little different, sometimes breaking up the flow of play is the best option but here I'm sure we had our defenders in a line and ready to close it down and nullify the chance they had. Instead Lucas committed the foul and let more of their players crowd the box looking for the goal. All it takes in those situations is one mistake from one player and the ball ends up in the back of the net. Anyway it didn't happen and I'm at least thankful for that

Should they have scored I'd have been calling N'gog allsorts  :D

is this the same ronnie whelan that has half a dozen league winners medals, 3 fa cup & european cup, voted no30 in 100 players that shook the kop? are you fuckin bladdered?

Was Kenny Dalglish bladdered when he said it?

What do medals have to do with comparig players abilitys? Im pretty sure if Lucas was in a team surrounded by the players Whelan was hed have quite a collection aswell come his retirement. Thats a completely ridiculous point to bring up. By your way of thinking its Gary Neville is far superior to Rob Jones

where do I start

Start by saying something other then where do i start?

Start go on. Seriously read your comment and tell me what was so wrong about my reply.

You disagreed with me (and kenny) by saying whelans won this hes won that. So your basically saying hes in a different league to Lucas because hes won so much more. So surely that means Nevilles better then Jones right for example?

Lucas is, and always will be, a liability to our team..He is simply not even close to being talented enough to play for a top club. In this day and age (especially in the E.P.L) a player has to posess some form of natural ability..He has none...Too slow in everything, no pace, cant read the game, no athleticism, commits unnecessary fouls because of his lack of ability. Seems like a nice fellow though, very quiet etc.. how about sending him to Coventry! :O

Your first post, and my God, what a f*cking stinker.

90% of our side was sh*te today, and *gasp* shock horror, Mr Gerrard was one of the worst, even more so than Lucas, who've you've torn to absolute shreds.

Lucas may have had a poor game today, but he's been one of our best players for the last 18 months. Just a shame he doesn't play more Hollywood passes, or bang in Roy of the Rovers style overhead kicks from 40 yards out to appease the plebs.
