He has come on so much this season and even when we struggled under Hodgson he was always one of our better players.

He sounds like a good bloke too.

Yeah dont put Lucas and a star wars reference in the same sentence or we will all drown in naff merchandise

As for our Lucas, while I dont think he the star of the squad. I do believe his work, makes life easier for some of bigger names in the team

His passing was incisive and he doesnt give it away anywhere near as much as he has in the past.
He wins almost all of his headers which for someone of his height and build is brilliant,
The lad seems to have grown with the added responsibility placed on his shoulders and gets better with each game.

Are you serious, best player last night, he had a good game yes but I would give best player to Kuyt, he worked his :censored: off last night and he was the one winning the ball back and winning the duels, not Lucas.

I just cannot see why people rave about Lucas, he's a much improved player but still very very average in my eyes, he never really excites me with his play, never stands out.

To completely win a majority vote, Lucas must score a goal or 2, here or there, especially starting at Chleski on Sunday. That would be nice....

Yes i am serious, he was my man of the match.
I agree that Kuyt had a great game too btw. Both of those 2 where our best players.
I have already explained my reasons as to why i thought he played well.
His passing was incisive and accurate. He keeps the ball moving and is now offering himself for the ball all of the time taking responsibility.
Added to that he wins possesion back regulaly and wins almost all of his headers in the centre.

One of the first names on the teamsheet he would be for me.

Excellent again. Infact some of his passing last night was on a different level to anything he's produced in the past. For fans to still claim that he's average is truly baffling.

89% pass completion, one of which in the first half reminded me of Alonso.

Why the hell has his new contract not been sorted yet?

His workrate and passing at the moment keeps our midfield ticking. He is integral to keeping the ball moving. Alonso was likened to our metronome, maintaining the rhythm. Lucas is doing this brilliantly at the moment. Only a small minority fail to see this.

I think he and Kuyt was the MOTM for me last night. The only knock on him is still he is too light weight and physically not as dominant. But he is a really good player to have as his effort is always there. If we can get rid of Poulsen then we can try to get some young guy in the essien mode then the LFC future will be very bright.

Lucas's performance v Stoke was very close to being perfect ,the Lad just grows in stature every game he plays, and he is now in my opinion the most essential name on the team sheet ....
