I've read it and he's a Liverpool LEGEND in every sense of the word.

But he isn't a world class manager anymore. Sorry if that sounds disrespectful, but it's a fact.

What Liverpool Football Club needs more than a "World Class Manager" (whatever that might be) is a man who LOVES LFC and eats, drinks and breathes LFC.

A man who will insist on players how have the same attitude as him. Then we might just see a return to displays of pride and passion rather than the mostly gutless, mediocre drivel that is offered as "the Liverpool way" currently.

what rubbish...you need managerial ability above anything else. 100s of football clubs have given the manager's job to former players who know nothing about being a manager but 'love' their club. It almost always ends in disaster.

Kenny had his time and going back won't work. If roy isn't the man then we need to find someone who is and i suspect that NESV are probably doing that as we speak.

And kennys managerial career did not end in disaster. Hodgson has no relationship to LFC whatsoever and you know what IT SHOWS ffs we are going backwards at a alarming rate. Look at out results and the table. Time for change NOW!  no if,s or buts. NOW!

There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Carbone, Di Matteo, Zola, Di Canio, Cudicini, Eranio and Ravenelli.

Yep. What's the connection between all those players, though?

they all played in Italy before coming to the EPL and played well too? i dont know...

Most of them are or were attacking players. Just an observation, but it seems if you're going to buy Italian or a player that's played in Italy for a long time, then it's probably a good idea to avoid defensive ones.

The biggest difference in those players is that when they moved from Serie A to EPL it was considered a step down in standard whereas now its a step up

which is ironic isnt it, considering the Italians have been lauded as the best defenders in the game. it could be also perhaps that the good defensive players don't wish to uproot, while the ones who have not exactly cemented their place in the national team are willing to go out and make an impression.

while i agree with your observation, i can't imagine someone like Nesta coming in and being a flop but i won't be surprised if Domenico Criscito having making the desired impact. looks like the Italians don't have the same type of watertight defense any longer.

but its not just the defense. its also the attack that has gone so poor over the years. no longer can they rely on players like Inzaghi or Del Piero whose names itself hold a reputation. players like  Gilardino or Quagliarella are just not good enough IMO. in short, the best bet would be to stay away from Italian players.
