rafa is finished hes out of date tactics his man management skills are tripe. He should get the compo money inter are about to pay him and start a new business venture. Maybe buy some burger vans franchise i could see him being more affective at doing that. Time to move on and change careers.

He wasnt fecked off for fecking things up majorly like Rafa did last season.

Do you really think Rafa left because of the football ? IMO he left because of the board and the fallout with them - Rafa took his eye of the ball with his battles with the boardroom - he shouldnt but he didn because he wanted better for the club . If he was sacked because of the results then why didnt he go as soon as the season was finished - why was he signing players and sorting out contract extensions after the season finished .

It was one poor season in 7 - yes it was shocking but imo he should of been given the time to turn it around - he wasnt , he left and the board then replaced him with someone inferior who has taken us backwards . Its a shame he couldnt just leave the boardroom to their own battles as things might of been different .

His defending wasn't THE best but it was decent enough and since Rafa bombed him out he never sorted that position out.

Riise got a ton of criticism especially in his last season. I remember him beeing a common scapegoat that year and at least half this forum wanted him out. Sadly Aurelio has been injured too much the fill the spot.

I actually was going to add that Riise became a scapegoat, don't know about on here but a few lads I know suddenly wanted him shot (not literally).

Probably because they didnt want to pay him what he was owed according to his contract. He was sacked but the negotiations probably took time.

Rafa generated as much debate amongst his own supporters as any manager you're ever likely to know and that was a reflection of all the ups and downs we experienced throughout his tenure. If it were so clear-cut, that is to say if his success was so consistently obvious and with major mistakes hard to come by, there never would have been such fierce debate over him. There was very good reason to doubt his ability to turn it around and from an historical perspective, some reason to suggest he might at some point rediscover his touch. At some point. It was always a question of looking to the foreseeable future and that meant looking at our direction of travel under Rafa: within that context there was every reason to believe he wasn't going to turn it around and that therefore a change of manager would be required. It was never accurate to characterise Rafa as being of a fixed level (few can be said to conform so easily anyway) and who - having been momentarily knocked out of his stride by the two previous owners - was bound to return to that level as soon as normality was restored off the pitch. His very mixed time with us didn't conform with that view, and his time at Inter - where he's had no such constraints of distractions - says the same.

Well said LFC2007, I whole heartedly agree with that (but would have had no chance of putting it down in words).

His time was up (and im sure most fans would agree with that), and he went, its as simple as that

Sweeping statements written as if they are accepted fact cause more trouble than theyre worth. "It was one poor season in 7"
Could you explain what you mean by that please?
