He sold Crouch because Crouch wanted to leave and get first team football
He sold Riise because Riise had plateued as a player .
I agree about Riise, but should have kept Bellamy instead of going for Voronin.
Though Riise became stale under us, his replacement was not even half the player Riise was.
Voronin was free and Bellamys fee was to go towards bringing in Torres
Do people not remember the shocking season bellamy had overall for us ?
Yes agree the replacement for Riise was the problem as opposed to Riise going , but he was an Italian international - just didnt work out
If it didn't work out, then why buy him in the first place for 7m? why buy someone unproven in the premiership when we could have went for other players who are better, cheaper and already have experience in the english league
I agree about Bellamy, but he is better than Voronin. Instead of spending a hefty 11.5m on Babel, we could have kept Bellamy and bought Torres.
Its all IF's mate- im sure we all wish we could go back in time and change things
Babel at the time was the hottest property in football and big clubs were chasing him and as i said Bellamy didnt succeed with us and was a disappointement - as well as hitting fellow players with golf clubs
If it didn't work out, then why buy him in the first place for 7m?
Dont understand ? You have to buy him first to see if he works out ?

Like who ? Konchesky ?
