Out of interest though, why is it when Rafa was in charge, it was always down to the owners. He never had the money to spend. He was up against it. And its this in which Rafa is generally defended. Despite him bringing in players for daft fees who are nowhere near good enough, this is one of the arguments for rafa. He was fighting against Hicks and Gillett. Those very same people who gave him a cushy 5 year contract when he finished ONE season in all his time here challenging for the title. Now yes, we can argue he won us the european cup, and the fa cup, but for every Liverpool supporter, we all hold to our heart our league titles and our rivals. Our rivals equalled our record that year we finished second.

So now the challenge is set. Rafa won nothing the year we finished second but alas ! he saw the light, we were challenging. A couple of improvements and we could get back on track. Did rafa take into consideration what had occurred? United equalled our title record.

Did rafa take into account that the rot has to stop, we have to keep that league form going?

Did rafa swallow his own stubborn pride and put the club first to ensure we kept our best players to make sure we would get back on track to competing and winning league titles?

No, he didnt. He got what he wanted. I find it very convenient in the last year of his contract he managed to get the team to perform in the league. He ensured none of our key players signed new contracts until he did, he held the club to ransom and yet, to this day, he is a messiah type figure.

Now lets take Roy. He has suffered the same hardships rafa did. Roy hasnt had money to spend, indeed come January, is any of us clear as to whether or not the new owners will cough up money to buy new players? I honestly dont know, all I am hearing is "it will take time". Will Roy have money or not? or is this a question not even mentioned among many of you, seeing as everything wrong with the club is all Roys fault?

Whenever we lose a match, its roys fault, and this tedious thread gets bumped. Its never the players, its never there fault. Its all down to roy and how he is dragging this club down.

Hicks and Gillett dragged this club down, Roy is the scapegoat. Its not in my nature to be a spoilt brat and demand the best throughout my life, its in my nature to respect the people who deserve it. If at the end of the season, if Roy is given money to spend, is given time to improve the team, and fails miserably, then yes, we should look elsewhere. But by christ people show some kind of perspective, if rafa can be afforded some kind patience, then surely roy deserves the same?

A catalgoue of embarassing comments there. How can people still say he should be afforded respect when he keeps making an idiot of himself and the club? Maybe he can get away with making such comments at Malmo or Fulham but that's not the way any manager of Liverpool football club should speak.

Sorry no he cant mate, the whole idea of Rafa getting boot was that finishing seventh was unacceptable even with owners situation or previous season finish. Or the fact under Rafa, we started looking the business again after Houlliers reign had gone stale.

Roy wasnt my choice but I was willing to give him respect he deserves as Liverpool. Im not going to insult Roy and I take a dim view of those who do. Nor am I going take every one of his soundbytes apart, I will acknowledge that owner situation was a problem to him as well as Rafa.
If he gets sacked at end of season or beforehand it will be rather harsh.

However he is manager of Liverpool football club and LFC expects better

Roy is going on about any one who came he wouldnt do any better than him and would do a similar job, Well if thats the case id suggest any manager from a Liverpool Sunday football side , should make his move 3m a year . not bad that might even apply for the job meself, like he said anyone couldnt do any better , but at least id get in the match free ,perfect seat and get to go into the changies,
