ROY HODGSON - Official Thread

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I have said many times that the likes of sammy lee or Kenny should have taken Roy aside and instructed him about how things work here.
He has been ignorant and naive in not thinking that each letter of every syllable of every word in every sentence would be used by some to hysterically attack him.
I hope he starts to wise up and realise that so many put unbelievable emphasis on his every utterance and how important it is to these people.

It's not so much that his every word was under a microscope from the start. It's that he made a habit of making silly comments so it was bound to happen. He could have easily just put an end to it all by not making any more comments but if he keeps making them then people are not just going to ignore them are they? Especially if results are not going our way.

Couldnt care less if he wore a dress and called himself sandra, as long as we get some wins and play away like we did the last game.
We're starting to play better football, we're getting there

Only results will win backing Dawson. He needs to learn to string together 5 or 6 good results. Only then will he start to win some fans back.

he's got a perfect opportuity to do that, because on paper we should win all of our next 6 games.

the spurs game showed that he is learning, and not so stubborn that he wont change, even th we lost he gained some support from the way we played. but you're right, we lose tomorrow and its back to square one

Hodson is here to "steady the ship..." make sure it does not sink & we will see how it goes from there I suspect.

If the "ship" were to sink, I wonder who would be the first rat to jump ship.

Really happy with the changes in football that we've shown against Spurs.  If Maxi or Torres had put away those chances then we'd all be praising him right now.  If Roy continues to use this philosophy for the rest of the season, then he'll have my full support.

I disagree. Some people have been on his case from the minute he signed up. As I said, he should have been given advice from the likes of Kenny and I am annoyed that he wasnt. Yes he does talk sh'ite, but what manager doesnt?
Have you ever listened to Moyes, Allardyce, Wenger, scotch hole? All full to the top brimming with bullsh'it. The only honest manager is Holloway and people think hes a joke.
I agree that Roy talks too much but Im not overly bothered what he says and I certainly wouldnt use it against him.
Not yet anyway...

How do you know he wasn't advised and briefed?

If he continues to play Konchesky then it shows him to be a very poor manager indeed.

The player himself stated he has been $*i*e, and not good enough.  He has a fully fit Aurelio to pick instead now, so come on Roy, recognise where you are, pick players that have a chance of being good enough, stop bowing down to SAF, and admitting defeat before we turn up to play, and get with the programme.

We are quickly becoming regarded as a mid table team that are not thought of in terms of a title challenge.  Roy, it is YOUR JOB to fix that with every interview, every training session and every match.

The performance was great against Spurs and had we taken our chances we would have won.  It's how we perform in the rest of our fixtures from here on in that's important.

We are a different team when we play without shackles.  Benitez couldn't grasp that and Hodgson can't seem to either.  We are too good to play that toothless, negative :censored: we've had to endure for years.

Our away record is absolutely disgraceful, only West Ham have scored less! 1 win in 8  :no  shocking

he's still here and yet newcastle (who are above us by the way) sack their manager having been in the championship last year.

just about sums it up.
