I don't believe in this numerical advantage, its 11 vs 11, so in the end its fair. What matters is the players we play and who gets the best out of who.

If you had a 4-4-2 team with Zidane and Gerrard in the middle, Torres and Tevez strikers, you would sh*t on any team even if the other team has 6 or 7 playing in midfield.

You just need the balance

Its more than that mate - we have seen it plenty of times where a team playing 442 just doesnt get hold of the ball because the midfield is flooded with the oppo . Its how the smaller teams get results against the big boys - you need to match them . If we had an extra midfielder against city i bet the game would of been so much more different .

lets move to our next few games

Behave dawson - no idea who that post is aimed at with "fans " comment but so far people are having a decent debate with no flames to be seen .

play gerrard as 2nd striker, and give him the free role. He can then move into midfield if needed.

Not going to disagree with that at all - that is the way it should be - change your formation to suit the way the oppo plays as opposed to being home or away .

of course you need flexibility but I really do think that with the personnel we have and until we find another Xabi Alonso we need to play 4-4-2 but that means we need 2 strikers and at the moment we only have one hit and miss one plus Eggnog who is scared of damaging his pretty little face, WTF was he thinking jumping up in the air with his hands above his head, he needs to be getting a serious bollocking for that.  :veryangry

benny, youve seen our next 6 or so league games.. no reason why we shouldnt win them all.. if it does go wrong, we need new manager i say, if he does well, let him mould the team a bit in january

Dawson - you have seen our results and performances against these so called lesser teams this season so you will have to excuse me if i seem less confident as yourself .

He made a mistake - it happened and we move on , he isnt the first player playing for us that has fecked up . In the end no damage was done from his mistake .

No that wasn't a mistake that was down right stupid and dangerous, seriously tell me why he thought it would be a good idea to put his hands over his head when standing in a wall, it is retarded. I have never seen anyone ever do that and it shows that the lad has no guts plus the fact that he's a rubbish striker who goes hiding all the bloody time.

Mancs play 4-4-2, they usually play with 2 strikers, and have done it for now, they played against us 4-4-2, while we had 4-5-1, and they won. They are also at the top of the league and not lost a single game while playing that system. Thats because they have the players who can hold the ball and pass it. Like I said dude, you need really good players who can keep the ball, pass it around and don't waste possession. We are short in that department, we don't have the balance to play 4-4-2 (which I agree that it would be better to play 4-5-1 against the big boys), but my argument is, once we get another top class striker and wingers who can bring balance into the team, play Meireles and Gerrard in the middle with two strikers and we can do really well!

It was a mistake and it happened - its a natural reaction to protect your face when something is going straight at it - so lets behave a bit ok and stop using words like retarded . We didnt lose because of it ok .

When the mancs play 442 one of their strikers either Berbatov or Rooney drops deep into the middle to combat the numbers in there and it always turns into a 4-5-1 .

A draw would of been the fair result .

The thing is, if we put Maxi's chance away, it would have been really difficult for them to get back (we are not Arsenal), The chances we had were wasted by the daftness of our players, while Tottenham's chances were actually stopped by a world class block by Carragher, and Meireles' block. Maxi just f*cked up his chance himself!

True mate - but i do worry when someone says we were brilliant yesterday - has our standards dropped that low now ?

from how we have been playing in the last year??? yes.

ok take that with a pich of salt but when you take into account that our best player was not even on the bench and the one top top striker in the world needed to buy a map to find the goal since before the world cup then his statment dont look that far off lol

oh fuk off, you're making no sense.. yeah some 'fans' meaning you and a few others are ruining it yet again.

We argue Roy plays too deep, so he playus the right way, you're using the arguaments that are now invalid, and even though everyone else ahs moved on you keep with my statement to no doubt try to get me banned as well

Roy did his job, he did it well, the strikers let us down yet some will continue to moan... i just dont get it.

but maybe you'll get yourwish, more sensible talking posters will get banned and you can talk your BS to your hearts content.

Its only a so-called decent debate as everyone who argued with you has been banned or isnt posting at the moment

Well done Dawson - before accusing others of stuff have a good look in the mirror . Both myself and MH were having a pretty calm decent discussion of the merits of the different formations and how we should best play against certain teams and also 7 Kewell came in and added to discussion and it was all going fine and pleasant until you arrived with your little flame starting quote. No one is slating the manager . Grow up and realise you do nothing but add fuel to the fire on many occasions .The season is more than just one game that we actually lost nor is it just the last couple of games - so far it's 15 games with 6 defeats and only 19 points so you will have to excuse me if I'm not currently jumping for joy nor going on about a great game which we lost . I don't care about if and buts - its results that matter and overall report so far is nowhere near good enough .
